Comments about Gretsch Guitars FSR Two-Tone Electromatic Double Jet Electric Guitar:

I have been playing Gretsch for 30 years. IMO, the Electromatics are an excellent value, especially since they switched from mud buckers to blacktop pickups. This guitar has the Filtertrons from their professional line, and a rare color combo. It would have been nice if they included a whammy, but you can add that. I suspect the wiring harness is rattling inside. No big deal unless you're playing it late night acoustically.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars FSR Two-Tone Electromatic Double Jet Electric Guitar:

I was looking for a Gretsch that had the Filter' Tron pickups in a hard tail that did not cost an arm and a leg. I found this model by accident after quite a bit of internet scouring. I read the other reviews here and decided to take a shot. I play in a classic rock cover band and needed the "Great Gretsch Sound" for a number of songs, but also some punch and growl for others. I have a Gretsch Historic Reissue (that I really like) but it has the "mud-buckers" and just lacks that "jangle". This guitar did not disappoint. Fit and finish are perfect. I will have my local tech do a full set up soon, but no discernible issues so far. The pickups were set really high, a simple adjustment and all is well. I am running this through a 2/12 Hot Rod Deville. All I really needed to add was a Boss DS-1 Distortion and I can now get just about any tone I need. It is a bit neck heavy as some other users have mentioned but a chambered body guitar will normally have that issue. Use a wider leather strap, problem solved. I am very happy with this guitar.
White would not be my first color choice for the back and neck but I can live with it. It is pretty. Cheers!

As a collector, this is my seventh Gretsch to add to my collection.I swore after number 6 that I was finished with collecting Gretschs and will move on with other brands.Till I saw this one.Electromatics have entered a whole new class of guitar makers. There is one con....deciding which one is my favorite.
