OVERVIEW

More performance, more style and more feedback-resistant.

Revitalizing the best elements from the past, the G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby bursts into the modern music era with updated sound and style. Brash and feedback-resistant, the sleek G2622T is designed for the guitarist who demands more than the mundane from an instrument, more performance, more style and most importantly, more volume while retaining all you expect from a Gretsch.

The secret to the Streamliners sound is two-fold: the BroadTron humbucking pickup and the spruce center block. Specifically designed by the expert engineers at Gretsch for the Streamliner, this high-output pickup spawns robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange for a unique tone that blends well with other instruments in a band context. A lightweight spruce center block runs the length of the body, reinforcing the top while eliminating undesired feedback for volume-friendly performance on rocking stages.

The Streamliners sonic power is harnessed and shaped by the traditional control layoutneck and bridge pickup volume controls, a master tone control, master volume control and three-way pickup switching. A fast-playing 12-radius rosewood fingerboard with elegant pearloid block inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets sits atop the white-bound nato neck with a thin U-shaped profileideal for chord work or fiery riffing. Add some shimmer and expression to your playing with the Bigsby-licensed B70 vibrato tailpiece while the Adjusto-matic bridge with anchored base and synthetic bone nut grant astounding tuning stability and accurate, slip-free intonation.

All the classic eye-catching style youve come to expect from Gretsch is herevintage-style gold control knobs, F holes, elegant two-ply white and black body binding, slick-looking nickel hardware, single-ply black pickguard with Gretsch logo and arched laminated maple construction. Nearly impossible to put down once you pick it up and start playing, G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby is an updated version of the authentic sound and classic style that has earned Gretsch accolades since the dawn of rock 'n' roll.

I have played and owned probably about 85 to 90 guitars in my 16 years of playing and this guitar ranks right up there at the top with the Gibson Les Pauls, SGs, and the Gretsch 6118 I have owned. I was a little bit hesitant about this guitar since it was new, with no reviews, and was supposed to be a lower end Gretsch, but when I took it out of the box and plugged it in this Gretsch 2622t can really sing in clean or distortion. YOU CANNOT FIND A BETTER GUITAR IN THIS PRICE RANGE and maybe even not in a higher price range. The low end is smooth, the mids stand out beautifully, and the highs really sing for whatever type of music you are playing. I play a Alternative/Punk Rock style of music and the pickups in this Gretsch are gonna be perfect. But even if you play Country or Jazz this is the guitar for you. It truly is a very well done guitar. The binding, frets, and paint are all excellent on it as well. This is a very solid axe.

Tried several of these at a local store i do business with. After having the house luthier do a proper setup which entailed cutting the nut properly, new set of high EB Slinky 10's, intonation check, etc..........we simply could not keep that thing in tune when using the trem. I have owned an Electromatic Dual Jet with a Bigz in the past and it behaved great. These just can't for some reason. I tried 3 other of this model and they all had the same issues. i left them there and ordered an older Jet like I had before on Reverb. Those were really well made guitars.

Comments about G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

I've read many reviews, this is my first time giving a review. I felt this guitar was worthy. This is a great guitar. Looks great(Torino Green), plays, sounds like what I was looking for. I'd always been bereft that I traded a late 60's Tele(in the early 70's) for a Gretsch Country Gentleman, being a huge George Harrison and Chet fan. It was not good. Poorly made, decals for F holes. Now, my dream of having a Gretsch has been realized. I put 12's on it(unwound 3rd), tuning and intonation are spot on. The Bigsby is stable and does not cause de-tuning with light use. Action is perfect(I need low action) with no buzzing. The new Broad'Tron pickups sound good to me. Not as jangly as Filter'Trons, but they are humbuckers and have a great jazz sound as well as growly for Blues, Rock or Rockabilly. I enjoy playing 'The Golden Age of Guitar Instrumentals' like Duane Eddy, Link Wray, Freddie King, Chet, even Surf 'A la Dick Dale, etc. This guitar fits the bill perfectly. This guitar is simply a great buy, no matter where it was made

after 20 years of playing an american strat i got back into playing and wanted a humbucking style guitar. always wanted lucille but set my sights to a 335 style guitar. this this just blows the doors off the artcores and epis. got the bigsby and just had to use bar soap on the nut and bridge with new strings. Streamliner has a loud output and wants to break my small tubes right out the gate. this is a great guitar, i have an expensive guitar this just fits the other sounds needs perfectly.
on my loud amp ill let it ring and i'm lucky to have nice neighbors.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double Cutaway with Bigsby:

I got this guitar in the torino green about a month ago. It took me a while to get used the semi-hollowbody, but I am hooked. This thing has a great sound even when unplugged. The pickups are great, so great that I had to lower them because they were so loud out of my Hot Rod Deluxe. The bridge rattled a little bit but I took it to my guitar tech and got it sorted out. I have been playing this thing at band practice about 5 hours a week and my band members always tell me about how awesome it sounds. Love it, it is my new favorite guitar. Oh, I am not a big fan of the Bigsby, it always makes the guitar go out of tune, but I don't use it much anyways. One of the best guitar purchases I have ever made.

This is a great guitar for the money and then some. I have several way more expensive guitars and this one will keep up them. Now it wasn't perfect out of the box, it needed a lot of set up work ( intonation, pick up height adjust, etc...). But after an hour or so of some tweaking, all I can say is WOW! It's really good. It will be a keeper. I will probably replace the knobs with some G arrow knobs for a more classic Gretsch look. Other than that, I really like it.

I played an ES335 and a '65 Casino, for Years, 6 nites/week, on the road. I used to own a Guitar/Amp M.I. shop! This ax is very good! I have 50 or so guitars, all brands, so, I would know. I changed the knobs, fo Gretch G-Arrows, Did a set-up, Changed to strap buttons for real Gretsch threaded on "strap Lock' buttons. Now, it's a Real Gretsch! I also have a Double Jet, ans a 5420? in Orange. I wasn't so Thrilled with the GREENE, Color, But, After a while it Grows on ya, [Like a Wart] lol! However nolw Green seems to be the IN Color, Soooo--!

I ordered the Flagstaff Red Dual Cutaway and first, it was packed really well! Once I unpacked it, I tuned it up and tried it out. I am used to 9's on my electric guitars and the Gretsch comes with 10's which suit it very well. After a bit of graphite on the nut it stayed in tune. It's beautifully made and has great tone through my pedalboard and Fender Excelsior Amp. The only slightly negative thing I would say is that when trying to play the highest notes on the high E and B strings, your hand is slightly obstructed by the body. Other than that, which is definitely not a deal breaker, I can say with all honesty, don't miss out on this guitar!
