Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

I picked this guitar up on clearance at a local retailer. I've always wanted a Gretsch, I've loved the bright jangly tones the pickups produce and how well they suit rock n' roll music. Played through my Blues Junior III with some gain and a bit of slapback the tone this thing gives in the bridge position is simply beautiful. The neck pickup is great for clean and bluesier tones, although this guitar won't really give you a smooth tone with tons of sustain the way a Les Paul or SG would. Everything is great, except the neck buzzes like no guitar I've ever played.

When I bought it there was a good amount of buzz, but I didn't hear any coming through the amp so I wasn't to concerned, but out of the noisy music shop the buzz really showed, even through the amp. I jacked up the action and it was better, but without making the guitar unplayable I couldn't get rid of it. After playing with the action and neck relief a good bit, I've found a setup that plays nicely, and only gives noticeable buzz above the 10th fret on the bottom 3 strings. Not a huge issue for me. With a professional set up, maybe even that buzz could be eradicated. Another possibility would be a high fret someone high on the neck. Still, not an unsolvable issue.

In the end you get what you pay for. This amount of money isn't going to buy you Les Paul or PRS level quality, but it will get you a very nice guitar that is quite capable of playing country, rock, or texas blues.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

This is a fun guitar! I got it in Sunburst, beautiful looking guitar. Right when I plugged it in I loved the tone, sounds really good. The pickups have a really thick/deep tone. The neck is really nice, really comfortable to play. Also, the tuners are not bad for the price, stays in tune a lot better than other guitars in this price range. One issue is the set up isn't perfect, quite a bit of fret buzz--but that can usually be fixed. Also, the intonation isn't perfect, which is rare for me, I usually only see that with super cheap guitars like Rogue. But this is my first time getting a Gretsch, so you live you learn. Overall, fun guitar to play and it's still worth picking up, I'm going to taking it to the stage real soon to really jam on this thing.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

I own 26 guitars, mostly high end. Gibsons, Gretsch, Guild, Hagstrom, etc. I bought this as a fun to play with toy. The finish was o.k. but not the best. The set up was terrible. The worst I've ever seen. It had solid fret buzz on the first three strings. After a bit of adjusting it plays pretty well and sounds good. The neck is o.k. Pretty smooth. I got it at half price, so I really can't complain. After playing out for 45 years and owning many guitars, I'll keep this one. Just remember, you get what you pay for. It's no Country Gentelman, but will do the job!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

This guitar was a pleasant surprise! Being a Grestch, I knew that it was going to be well built and sturdy. But the sound was phenomenal considering the price. I was jamming my buddy's SGJ prior to purchasing guitar and I feel that it competes extremely well if not wins. Out of the box it tuned up and played well. I did adjust the bridge a little bit. And after some fresh elixers and tiny bit of string lube I didn't want to put it down.

I play on a Fender Frontman 2x12. I really like the tone I got out of the guitar. Its a VERY BRIGHT tone. Which I love but if you are looking for something capable of the more warmer tones, this might not be the right purchase. Not to say it doesn't have a good warm setting. It's just not as good as the the tone you get out of using the bridge pick up. I was 120% happy with this purchase after I jammed on the clean channel. Honestly was be side myself with the sound I was able to get on it.

Its a really good price, It has a very excellent bright sound to it, I highly recommend it if you are shopping in this price range

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

I have owned and played for many years Gibson les Paul, Fender Strat, Rickenbaker, and other brand name expensive guitars. The G5410 sounds and plays just as well or better as any of my expensive guitars at a fraction of the price. I let my friend try out mine, and he just ordered one. He could'nt believe the quality for the inexpensive price.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5410 Electromatic Special Jet Electric Guitar:

I own two other Gretch guitars, a hollow body and a junior rancher and enjoy them all. My primary venue is a country/western church service with occasional other gigs. This guitar is a blast in every way. I enjoy playing at home and at the church. My friends all say it has improved my playing. Along with my Epiphone guitars, I feel that I have the best of all worlds, musically speaking.
