Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

The build quality is remarkable for a guitar in this price range. Hardware is much better quality than expected. Pickups sound pretty good, but prefer the newer HiLo'Trons on some of the center block models. I replaced the Bigsby B50 with a Bigsby B70. There was nothing wrong with it, I just thought it looked more aesthetically pleasing. I own a few more expensive Gretsch guitars, and the quality seems to be consistent across the line. This a a great little guitar.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

Just got this Gretsch after i picked up the Eastwood Astro Jet retro copy of the 1964 Gretsch Astrojet….and while the Eastwood played great and had the Gretsch church bell-like twang and sustain…the stock Filtertron style pickups were way too microphonic and caused problems live onstage. I contacted the Eastwood owner via email and he didn't offer much help since the guitar is discontinued.

I usually sell off older guitars i don't use and about 7 years ago i sold my hollow body Gretsch w/ Bigsby because i was worried i'd crack it since i caught an f-hole once on some equipment while jumping around onstage. It is one of only two guitars i ever regretted selling so when i saw Gretsch had upgraded the old mini humbuckers with actual Black Top Filtertrons on their Electromatics…i wanted to try one and see if i could duplicate my Gretsch sound from before.

Well this sexy baby exceeded all expectations and even cranked up through my Marshall Vintage Modern or my Carvin V3 mini 112 combo it does not feed back and howl uncontrollably like the Astro Jet from Eastwood. It has heft and while not Les Paul heavy…it is substantial and pro quality all around. I had originally planned to immediately pop in a TV Jones Classic Plus upon arrival…but these Black Top pups are just fine for now and i doubt i will have to make that purchase.

Gretsch has really given the public a super cool axe at an unbelievable price and i will use this along with my Gibson SG as my two main stage guitar in our punk/pop band….PopSicKill !!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

This is probably the best valued guitar on the market today. Superb craftsmanship, killer looks, resonant lows, biting highs, perfect intonation, and all for less than half the price of its competition.

I play mostly alternative, blues, and jazz, so I spend a lot of time on the smooth-and-creamy neck pickup. However, the bridge pickup has plenty of crunch and is perfectly suited for grittier tunes. The fingerboard is very comfortable and I have no problem moving around on it.

I don't have too much to say besides that. It's a stellar piece of equipment, and if it were stolen or lost, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. I'm obsessed with it, and if you're after a beatiful, flavorful tone, you will be too.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar as I always wanted a Gretsch, didn't want to spend $2K, and the reviews regarding build quality, etc on this guitar were excellent. I received the guitar and truthfully I was disappointed. Frets had some buzzing, came with no paperwork nor protective cover on the pick guard etc. I contacted musicians friend to set up a return and spoke to Thomas....disappointed as I was really looking forward to owning this Gretsch.

Thomas was great! He feared I was sent a returned guitar by mistake and offered to ship a replacement next day air. He asked me to check the replacement and run it through its paces and if I was satisfied to then return the old one, or both for a full refund.

I am glad I did! The replacement was everything I had hoped for and more- beautiful finish, perfect neck joint, great workmanship and perfect intonation (took to my luthier, he told me he would just be taking my money to pay him for a set up)

Ive boughten and owned many guitars over the last 35 years, many I still own that are valued at much much more then this model. For the price, This is is the best value I've ever been involved with in a new guitar since I bought my Rick 12 string back in 81 from a sales associate that was fired the next day for selling stuff under cost after an argument with his boss!

Don't even think twice...buy this...and buy it from MF where they value the customer after the sale as much as before!

            Thanks again to Thomas!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

Ive been playing this guitar for about 6 months now, i also play various telecasters and PRS guitars and this is my first gretsch. Right out of the box i was jaw dropped. i chose this model because of the neck and shape and the price seemed safe, this guitar has the finish and feel of a much more expensive guitar and is instantly inviting inviting your fingers to glide along the very unusual neck. I play this guitar to the side a bit and find that you can play much smoother and faster that way.

I will say this, i dont quite understand other reviews talking about medium hot pickups and lots of tone control.... this guitar is VERY VERY loud and if you play hard or pick hard sometimes there can be a little lack of tone and clarity but if you play with it and your picking you can get a pretty nice clean tone.

amazing guitar, that is very aggressive if played the way it wants to be played.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5445T Electromatic Double Jet w/Bigsby Electric Guitar:

This guitar was beautiful right out of the box. Looking this guitar over this thing is absolutely flawless. Great finish, absolutely gorgeous. Pluged it in and what a beautiful sustaining sound. This thing sings. The frets are smooth and the intonation is nearly perfect. Only the 5th and 6th strings a liitle flat at the 12th fret. A small turn of the adjustment brought it into perfect tune. The action is very good, I set mine a little lower. There is no buzzing in any position. The first thing I done was to change the strings, which made a big difference in the feel and sound. The stings it came with are stiff and hard to bend. I play lead in a praise band and have played for over 25 years. Aside from the gleaming that radiated from this due to the lights a lot of the group noticed the sound as being a notch above my other Guitars. I have an SG, LesPaul a Tele, and with this Gretsch, I can have what ever sound I want. Dial up a lttle delay, add some light distortion, some phaser, and this thing really sings. For the money this guitar is worth twice that in everyway. If you want a quality insturment for a great price I would say buy it you won't be disappointed
