Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5810 Bo Diddley Electromatic with Rosewood Fretboard:

Cool guitar at a good price, but only buy it if you are prepared to replace the bridge. As another reviewer noted, it is about the worst bridge you will ever find. Not only were the studs loose and tilted towards the pickup, but the horizontal part of the bridge also rattled in the studs. It didn't fit well. So, just get rid of that bridge altogether.

The neck is great. Also, the hardwood body is great. Good quality, very resonant, well crafted and a nice tight fit with the bolt-on maple neck. The pickups are pretty good too.

I seperately ordered a tune-o-matic style bridge and a nice chrome Gretsch G-tailpiece to upgrade this guitar. That didn't cost much at all, but now my G5810 is nearly the same as the G6138, which costs roughly ten times as much.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5810 Bo Diddley Electromatic with Rosewood Fretboard:

I had trouble finding this guitar. I contacted gretsch and they said they are not making this guitar anymore. I was surprised that mf had this guitar. I love this guitar. Bo diddley was such a unusual guitar player and this shape was his trademark. I liked this one so much I went out and got the pro model from gretsch. For the money it is a very good guitar. the pro model is much better sounding and very good looking with all its gold trimming, but it cost about four times as much as this electromatic model. If you love bo diddley as much as I do I recommend that you buy this guitar before it disappears. Mine came with a gig bag but you have to find a case to fit it. check out some of bo diddley's u tube footage from his prime he was a gun slinger and was a great guitar player. get yours while you can at mf nobody at this date has got any!
