No tuxedo required, but this guitar has class.

One night, many years ago in the Gretsch factory, a White Falcon and a Duo Jet were left sitting very close to each other before the lights were turned out and everyone headed home. This slightly odd couple started talking, one thing led to another, and . . . wham, bam! The rarest bird of all time was born. The Gretsch White Penguin is considered by many to be the epitome of classic electric guitars featuring all the glitter and glitz of the Falcon with the sleek styling of the Jet.

The light and fast single-cut Jet-style semi-hollowbody is crafted with an arched laminated maple top and a mahogany back. The set one-piece mahogany neck is topped by a 12" radius ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and the iconic hump block position marker inlays with a delicate feather motif. Both the body and neck are carefully bound with gold-sparkle binding. Other special Penguin touches include Grover Imperial gold-plated die-cast tuners, inlaid winged Gretsch logo on headstock, gold plexi pickguard with penguin motif, white-dot rhinestone inlays on control knobs, and a gold sparkle truss rod cover. Two Dynasonic single-coil pickups deliver that great Gretsch sound. The White Penguin Electric Guitar has an ebony-base Space Control bridge and the Gretsch "G" Cadillac tailpiece. Includes case.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6134 White Penguin Electric Guitar:

Gretsch! The name alone says it all, in my opinion. I have been playing guitar since 1965, and over the years, I have probably owned close to 100 guitars of different makes and models. Four of those guitars were made by Gretsch - a mid-60s double cutaway Nashville, a 70s Tennessean, a 1990 single cutaway Nashville, and now a new Custom Shop Penguin. The Penguin, without a doubt, is my favorite. There is something about a Gretsch that is simply unique to the brand. They have a sweet sound and a bold flare that is easily recognizable. They are fun to play and a pleasure to look at. When you hold a Gretsch in your hands, you know immediately that you're holding something special.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6134 White Penguin Electric Guitar:

Well, First of all ill start giving the list of the guitars I own. Gretsch White penguin Masterbuilt, Gretsch Black penguin, Hamiltone Strat, PRS modern Eagle II, Gibson les paul custom 71, Ibanez Jem 7v

Guitar and body: The guitar is made in Japan as my Jem and as the Gretsch Billy Bo I use to had. The guitar finish is amazing. All the sparkle top looks beautiful. The finish looks great too.

Pickups. This is my first expierience with the DynaSonic pickups. First of all I was afraid of them because I wasnt able to find info about them. Well, The pickups are AMAZING. They are very Rich and really fat. They sound fatter than a stratocaster and much less than a humbucker. Kind as a Gibson mini Humbucker but with much more definition for sure.

The guitar sounds great, it have a particular tone, the hardware is beautiful and the neck profile is like a Gibson 60s neck. The guitar Stays in tune and the tone is really amazing!

Inlays are a beauty and ebony fingerboard is great too. Is a very nice guitar. Clean tones are extremly warmth and the overdrives are really crunchy.

You can't go wrong buying this guitar.

The only problem for me was that I had to replace the bridge because the screws on it were hurtting my hand.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6134 White Penguin Electric Guitar:

This as an absolutely painstakingly crafted guitar. It is much more accurate than the older penguins from a few years ago. The neck on mine is dead on straight and the frets don't need any work as they are just about perfect. The action can be set as low as you like and the guitar is very easy to play. The melita style bridge has to be set by the user so a little knowledge about setting up the guitar for proper intonation is a must. Every guitarist should know the basics on how to do this to save time and money anyway. Mine was not set up properly. No big deal. The sound is distinctively Gretsch. This guitar has a unique sound an feel so after playing it for a while you will be able to find out where it fits in best for you. I really like this guitar.

A relic of the present and past..

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6134 White Penguin Electric Guitar:

The sound just bursts from those Dynasonics. The build quality is superb. It's balanced like a mastercrafted katana and meets the eye like a beautiful model. I can't express how this guitar is "just right." Yes, it has the "Gretsch sound," but I believe this guitar's tones go far beyond just that comfortable twang.

      Wow, What a style

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6134 White Penguin Electric Guitar:

I was in a shop looking and jamming with some les pauls, I tryed out a les paul supreme and loved it. But when I plugged the penguin in, I fell in love. The guitar sounded great! I sat there and played for a good hour on it, messing around with the pots and some effects on the amp. I even ripped a strap off another guitar so I could stand with it. The only thing that was weird, was when you palm mute, the bridge is a little higher up then I'm use to, but thats a personal pref and the pickups had a little noise. But hey! it felt great and sounded great
