No tuxedo required, but the White Penguin guitar has class.
One night, many years ago in the Gretsch guitar factory, a White Falcon and a Duo Jet were left sitting very close to each other before the lights were turned out and everyone headed home. This slightly odd couple started talking, one thing led to another, and . . . wham, bam! The rarest bird of all time was born. The Gretsch White Penguin is considered by many to be the ultimate in electric guitars featuring all the glitter and glitz of the Falcon with the sleek styling of the Jet.
The light and fast single-cut Jet-style semi-hollowbody is crafted with an arched laminated maple top and a mahogany back. The set one-piece mahogany neck is topped by a 12" radius ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and the iconic hump block position marker inlays with a delicate feather motif. Both the body and neck are carefully bound with gold-sparkle binding. Other special Gretsch Penguin touches include Grover Imperial gold-plated die-cast tuners, inlaid winged Gretsch logo on headstock, gold plexi pickguard with penguin motif, white-dot rhinestone inlays on control knobs, and a gold sparkle truss rod cover. Dual TV Jones pickups deliver that great Gretsch sound. The White Penguin Electric Guitar has an ebony-base Space Control bridge and the Bigsby B6G Vibrato tailpiece.

Just picked up a 2007 Limited Edition White Penguin. I was lucky. A fellow was willing to do a straight-across swap, so no new money had to be contributed. A owned a Duojet for several years, so I thought I knew what I was getting. Not so. Whole different deal here. It's more like a cross between a Falcon and Les Paul (IMHO) than a Duojet. Fit and finish is as good as I've seen playing for 40+ years. Great compliment to my Country Classic.
Wow man, this is a masterpiece truly a masterpiece, the craftsmanship, the look, the sound, I know you might say, well its pretty expensive, well you get what you pay for, the tone out of this thing is incredible, I own several high end guitars, fenders, gibson, and this guitar, although I love all my guitars, this one is my favorite one, do yourself a favor save up and buy this thing, its amazing.
My favourite guitar at the moment. Everything works exactly how I want. This is another piece of art. I love the sound, others may not like it, I know there are a lot of opponents. But Gretsch is Gretsch. A rare-looking but beautiful bird in my collection.
What can i say? This guitar is pretty amazing. I tried it out brand new up in Portland Oregon and was fairly impressed. The quality is top notch. Everything about it I like... except for the horrendous price! Its got amazing quality but its just not worth the asking price. Good guitar, too spendy. Gretsch guitars are amazing but like they are slightly overpriced. Besides, you can't go wrong with a Fender.
THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME GUITAR I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!!! You won't be disappointed at all. I've had this guitar for about 1 year, and out of all the other ones I've had, this one is definately the best. It's whammy bar is so easy to use and the guitar is light so on stage you can manuver very well. the style is just amazing, along with the sound! It's the perfect guitar for an active musician, like me. If I were you, I'd buy this guitar because, well, it's amazing!!! The white cream finish, with the gold hardware makes it look almost better than it sounds!!
