I've owned my Gretsch G6136T White Falcon for a little over a month. It is everything I had dreamed of.

First thing first, tone: unplugged, you can feel somebody playing an E chord from across the room. The maple top is exceptionally resonant and the bracing makes the guitar incredibly responsive to touch. The guitar has nuance out of the box and only gets better when you plug it into an amp. Any amp. I generally gig with a 5150 combo and a Vox AC30. I've been too busy to hook up my "rig" lately so I've played the Falcon through a Fender Champ and a small Mesa-Boogie. It does not disappoint. The FilterTrons are natural, airy, and open...the "space" created by these pickups must be heard to be believed. THe soundscape is large and harmonics are rich. The FilterTrons perform just as well as comparable TV Jones models. I've never been too much of an AC/DC fan, but suddenly "Highway to Hell" became immensely enjoyable to play.

Next, ease of play and workmanship: outstanding. The White Falcon has a very, very wide and deep neck that is best-suited to large hands. The ebony freboard produces the characteristic "snap" that makes big chords and lead runs stand out in the mix; other guitars in its class can get fairly muddy with rosewood fingerboards (they are a bit warmer). The half-moon inlays are a fantastic touch; I enjoy the feel of wood under my fingers. The Falcon is designed for heavier strings. If you're a player that enjoys 9-46 gauge, expect a bit of a learning curve (and some finger workouts). I wouldn't put anything less than 10s on the Falcon and feel more comfortable with 11s. The Falcon is quite heavy for a hollow-body instrument; expect to invest in a large, padded strap to prevent fatigue during long sessions.

The Bigsby is a heavyweight, high-end model. It stays in tune well and it performs admirably with subtle vibrato (you're not buying a Bigsby to perform Floyd Rose dives: don't expect to do it).

Aesthetically, the White Falcon G6136T is a masterpiece. A more gorgeous guitar simply does not exist. The binding on the guitar and the neck is flawless; the finish is immaculate.

If you're considering purchasing a Falcon, please don't hesitate to buy a G6136T. It was a dream of mine for quite some time and I'm increasingly convinced that Gretsch makes the best stock guitars on the market today. You can get big, hollow-body sound and live out your Billy Duffy, Neil Young, and Brian Setzer fantasies on a White Falcon!

I own many guitars and love most of them. Sorry but I was very disappointed when I got my White Falcon. Screws on the pickups are protruding and leave a bad sensation to the pickin' hand. The four screws adjusting the height of the pickups are sharp and very uncomfortable for my playing style. NOT ACCEPTABLE for a [$] (list)guitar. I contacted the company, they basically admitted it, but didn't have a solution. Come on, you can't find for gold screws that fit in the holes without protruding? Basically, they didn't care. When you start to save on screws it's a problem, it should be a recall. My Electromatic doesn't have this problem. Honestly playing my Indonesian Gretch guitar had a better feeling and this for 1/4 the price. What a shame. I'm insulted and if I could return it for a full refund, I would. If a guitar doesn't feel good.....it'll stay on the rack and won't be played.Craftmanship is sinking. If you want to play it, get another model.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T White Falcon with Bigsby:

I have always wanted this guitar and I am not disappointed. Incredible looking guitar in person, you could certainly say its a piece of art work, but plays like a dream. First class workmanship and materials, with incredible action and tone. Like quite a few folks, I wanted a certain brand of guitar based on my favorite guitarist, in this case I wanted a gretsch because my favorite guitarist is Malcolm Young, but can see the guitar is very versatile. There is no comparison to my American Standard Strat, the White Falcon is a once in a lifetime guitar. Easy to play, incredible looks, insane tone and an iconic history, what's not to like? This guitar is the complete package. There is a reason this guitar is rated one of the guitars you should play before you die.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T White Falcon with Bigsby:

This is the best guitar I have owned. I have 2 tele's, a strat, an LP, and an SG and none of them come close to the Falcon. With the P/U selector and tone selector switches you have 6 distinct tones even before adding your specific pedals. The neck and fingerboard are sweet, electronic are great, and finish beautiful. Body is definitely big, be prepared for that if you choose to purchase. Even though it is a hollowbody it is not neck heavy which is a hugh plus.

If you are not familiar with The Gretsch history, sound, Bigby, Gretsch tone circuitry, floating bridge whether it be 'Space Control', 'Rocking Bar' etc., Gretsch may not be your ticket to ride. However, these guitars (all the Gretsch professional series), have phenomenal sound and playability. I own 29 of them and the craftsmanship is second to none. Of course the vintage Gretsch have twice the value but their construction and, often times their playability could be slightly difficult. These new Gretsch guitars have great sound, tone and playability no matter the genre.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T White Falcon with Bigsby:

This is the nicest guitar I've ever owned or played. Play it through any amp (and I mean even a crappy No Name factory second with bad onboard effects). It sings. It's big, bigger than my Martin actually. I don't know what the deal is, but I get a rash sometimes on my forearm, maybe from the gold binding. Still, it's worth the pain, this thing is BEAST.

            White Falcons Rock

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T White Falcon with Bigsby:

I received my White Falcon and just opening the case and seeing that pure white guitar was amazing. It was setup perfectly for me, though I changed strings immediately to a wound 3rd (call me a wimp, but I don't like unwound 3rd strings). The guitar is fabulous. Sounds great, looks incredible, records like a dream and plays just like you think a Gretsch should. It's not a Fender, so you don't expect that kind of action. It has that Gretsch bite with a little twang. A bit pricey, considering the case was a TKL, and a US made Gibson 335 is about the same price, but, so far, I love it. Haven't played it live yet, but in the studio it is a dream.

            overpriced if you ask me

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G6136T White Falcon with Bigsby:

in my humble opinion, i think that this guitar is super overpriced. i have no doubts that it is an exceptional instrument, and i understand that you get what you pay for, but i have played some amazing gretsch guitars for under two thousand dollars (anniverseries). so if you are buying this as a collectible, fine, but if you are looking for classic gretsch tone and playability, i would take a look at the anniversaries, or even the electromatics.

I have over a dozen guitars, Fenders,Gibsons,Rics,a classic BC Rich, even a Taylor. This guitar has such an amazing feel and sound that it can replace most of them by itself. The price is a bit steep but if you want the best you need to pay for it! Don't go cheap, go Gretsch!!!
