The Gretsch Guitars G6136TSL Silver Falcon Electric Guitar with Bigsby uses dual High Sensitive Filter'Tron™ pickups on a unique hollowbody construction with small tone bars to deliver jangle, bite, or solid round tones with equal facility. Laminated maple top, back, and sides with 3-piece maple neck are adorned with an ebony fretboard; chromeplated hardware; silver-sparkle headstock inlays; unique silver pickguard with acrylic top and falcon monogram; full silver-sparkle body, neck, and headstock binding; and finely crafted hump block mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays with feather engraving. There is no way I deserve this guitar!
My wife got it for me because I stuck with my guitar lessons for over 3 years!
This is the greatest guitar on earth and I love it! The Silver Falcon will make you a better guitarist because your will work hard to be worthy of it.
We considered the Normandy Archtop, the Gibson ES175 and The Rick 360, but the Gretsch Silver Falcon beats them all! IT CAN DO IT ALL! Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Anything...Everything!!!
It is worth the price because you will never need or want another guitar as long as you live!

A great guitar no doubt. I used one for a full length album. check samples on iTunes for Ry Bradley to hear it. I used a silver falcon on every track except Rythoven. I used a Marshall JCM 900, a fender 1966 Bassman, and a silverface Super reverb all at once with this great guitar.
Great sounding guitar. Neck Pickup Fat and Jazzy, Bridge has enough bite to seriously rock or play country licks.
Made very well, which is typical of Made in Japan Guitars.
I think the Chet Atkins 6120 is a better value at 1000 less. it sounds just as good and has better intonation. I'm not sure of the name, but the falcon has a roller type bridge which may be better for chords and whammy textures, but if you're gonna be soloing and playin up the neck, you'll need a different bridge set up.
The sparkle binding is pretty amazing. Obviously this guitar looks amazing, and sounds great.

5 stars all way round'. The Gretsch Silver Falcon plays like butter right out of the case. The ebony fretboard is smooth and sexy. The tonal range is incredible and that's just messing with the pickup selector. The tone selector works wonders, you have a total of 9 tones to choose when you combine the pickup selector and tone selector. Sweet jangle, smooth boomy or thumpy lows (hurray for duck-walking) are possible from the clean Filtertrons. overdriven crunch reveals awesome bite and almost no feedback (the feedback thats there is pure music and inspiring). I have no problem with knocking this thing out of tune (and i go way to bigsby happy.....All the time). Strap buttons are cool. I wish this thing was finished in Nitro is my only complaint (Eh.. the silver falcon emblem on the headstock was funny but I'm over it). The space-control bridge is damn handy, I've used it plenty within the weeks I've had this thing. Oh and the best thing of all is the 1959 Trestle Bracing. Yeah this puppy sings! 22 frets but hey that's plenty. This thing has a 12 inch radius fretbaord on top of a comfy neck.

Lotta bucks to own but it's a lotta guitar too. Great neck, low action, and a giant body that will resonate and cause feedback in the most pleasing way with an overdriven amp. The Filtertrons are sensitive and loud. I wish there were treble bleed caps, stock, on the volume pots. Fit and finish were perfect when I opened the case (which is awesome too). I am proud to own this guitar.

I bought the Silver Falcon during the summer and must say that is quite the outstanding sleek mean machine of hollow bodies. Cranking tone comes from the hunbucking, filterons and amazing resonance from a 2.75 deep body. The action is smooth and the neck fast. The chords ring endlessly on this one. It is great espcially with some nice reverb and echo or even some clean effects. The finish is so smooth in black and silver . Definitely great for surf, rockabilly, post punk, jazz, and any kind of textured playing. The Bigsby on this thing is pretty tough too.
