For a low dollar guitar, this little hotrod rocks, the neck is finished like butter, you may need to set it up to your style and I play through a fender frontman with lots of reverb and my little Gretsch almost plays itself,..now aint that a bitchin guitar!
The JJ11 is hands down the finest of the affordable hotrods.Mine was a pawn shop hider, unbeleivible neck and action. The sound is undeniably Gretsch and what a fabulous finish in all black with pearl pick gaurd.I also own Takamine hi end and fender frankinstrat which are very nice but hands down,..the JJ11 is out of the bag, butcha better hurry cause they may not last at this price.

When I tried this guitar out, The first thing that I noticed was its weight. It was way heavier than I like, I use a epiphone les paul and a epihone dot on stage. But if you want a great value, get a dean MLX, they're in the same price range and they dont hum, like the gretsch does, the gretsch name is legendary but if you want a gretsch quality gretch, you are going to have to throw down a couple more bills.

Good guitar

By Jon Simmons

from Oregon

Over all great guitar forthe guy who likes to mod things!
I bought it hoping for a decent guitar, well I was mistaken, it is a great guitar with certain mods. I am A p-90 ,fan so out went the stock pickups in went a set 0f P-90's and upgraded tuners. I really like the neck, feels great, the frets are just right. I then added a Bigsby 5. I want to get a few more of them to to mod and play.

Really Basic

By MusicMan-_KrT7

This is a good guitar if you are just starting to play and want a decent electric guitar. I find that the pickups buzz, the lack for separate volume and tone pots for each PUP doesnt suit me at all. The strings will vibrate on the frets if you dont get it setup and the bridge is a pain to re string. DO NOT play this giutar for any gigs your audience will be dissapointed with the sound

great sounding little

By guitar johnson

from New York City

I own a strunal acoustic, a squire strat and a dobro steel and this jet is the best!. I got this guitar as a replacement for an epiphone dot. The jet has a great neck and a pretty decent sound and if your looking for a nice cheap guitar you should buy one of these. All of jets are real nice.

It blows

By midfieldmorris17

from Maine

Where do I start. If you're looking to move around on stage this guitar is very heavy. The input jack on mine came loose and shaky. It almost cracked my amp. If you are buying one plug it in as soon as you get it. If you hear some humming take it in right away to get the input fixed. The humbucker was also loose and I had to replace it. I somewhat blame the retailer for the majority of these problems but still there are better deals out there.

Good pickups! A really nice guitar for the price. With a good pedal you can get some real good distortion!

Amazing value for money

By BobD

from Ashington,Northumberland,UK

I was looking for a cheap spare guitar but wanted something a little different.Came across this beaut of a guitar in a small music shop, noticed it was a Gretsch and that was it.I had to double check the sale price because I couldn`t believe it was so cheap. I play in a regular gigging band and use the JJII all the time.I`ve had a lot of positive comments from folks at gigs about the look and sound of the guitar.Get one now,as was said above, before they realise they have the wrong price on this baby.

What a bargain!

By Gretsch4life

from Bloomington IN

I just received this beautiful guitar and let me tell you, it's way more than I expected for the price. Out of the box it was ready to plug and play. The finish is flawless and the sound and feel are something you would expect from a much more expensive piece. I own a 1996 Strat that I love but I wanted an inexpesive guitar that I could use strictly for practice. After playing this beauty I wouldn't be afraid to play gig after gig with it. For the money, this is a great guitar with a distinctingly amazing sound. If youre in the market for an inexpensive guitar with great feel and sound you've found it.

Great Value

By copterdoc

from Florida

I just bought this guitar and overall I am very pleased with it. I had to get the intonation adjusted because as it would not stay in tune. I also put a set of Fender Bullet strings on it and now it sounds and plays like a dream. I plan on putting a set of Grover tuners on it, the ones on it now don't adjust very well and it still goes out of tune very easily. If you are looking for a good guitar at a great price this is the one! But by all means put some good strings on it. I play it through a Marshall MG30DFX amp and the sound and effects are awesome. Buy one, you won't be dissapointed
