    One Fine Guild

Comments about Guild DV-4 Acoustic Guitar:

A wonderful guitar that I enjoy more and more and that keeps getting better in terms of richness of tone.
I have one of the last U.S. made versions of this (Tacoma -2006) and simply love it. From a price standpoint, this guitar is certainly would be considered to be among the entry level Guilds. However, the construction and tone of the guitar place it right up there with higher priced models. The guitar is an extreme value for the money given the fact it is an all solid wood instrument, from the solid spruce top to the mahogany back and sides. It is also very playable and has deep rich tone that one associates with the Guild brand. There have been times I have thought I might trade this one up for something a little higher priced. But when I play other U.S. made brands that are two to three times the price, I can't for the life of me justify giving up this beauty for one of those. This may not have all the frills of some of those in terms of finish and lack of electronics, but it still is a great value when you consider the all solid construction and the fine tone.
All solid wood construction? You can't beat it.
    See above comments. Enough said.

    Buy It!!!

Comments about Guild DV-4 Acoustic Guitar:

I spent nearly 6 months in shops and online finding a new acoustic after my 8 year old taylor 210 was smashed by my ex wife. I wasn't impressed with the guitars Taylor is now putting out. They seemed a lot tinnier and just seemed to be of a lesser quality than years passed. I tried out all the top acoustic brands, Martin,Taylor,Takamine and so on in the 600 to 1000 range and i kept on going back to the Guild Dv-4. It has amazing balance across the strings but still has that bassy growl that dreads should have. Its a big guitar too and has amazing projection. My roommate is a little dude and he has a tough time playing it. The understated stripped down elegance is just what i wanted not too flashy but still gorgeous. The TKL case that came with it is another big plus. A great buy for the money, definitely worth more for the money than new taylors or martins.
