A classic dreadnought with a dynamic and textured tone.
The Hagstrom Elfdalia Dreadnought acoustic guitar is constructed of a solid cedar top with mahogany back and sides. It provides a very lively tone as the cedar top brings out the upper-mid range and has a tendency to be harmonically active. Dreadnoughts have been a favorite shape of many guitar players since the mid-20th century and produce a distinctive tone. Cedar is a great material to help express the instrument’s overtones. Being a darker wood than spruce, the wood grain within the cedar top is often much tighter than spruce. This tighter grain allows the top of the instrument to vibrate more, providing a more responsive tone. Cedar works very well for both flat pickers and finger style technique.
With the Elfdalia Dreadnought, the icing on the cake is the gold hardware, which will catch the attention of the player and the audience. The look of the instrument properly matches the instruments responsive tone.

Comments about Hagstrom Elfdalia Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I own the Elfdalia Grand Auditorium so I decided to pick up the Dreadnaught. Big let down in comparison. The guitar is okay for the price, but even for this price the finish is just plain sloppy. I'm a fan of Hagstrom, but this should sell as a B-Stock. Lacquer is peeling off on the neck, there are finish bubbles in two places. The binding is imperfect at the heel, and along the neck where it meets the top. There are clear sanding/tooling marks. There is loose fabric tape hanging inside. Bottom line, it plays well and sounds pretty good, but if they are dropping the price on these because of these finish flaws it should state these are b-stocks. Sound/playability for the price is pretty good. The finish is another story...
