I was very skeptical about the quality of this guitar due to the price. Also I would normaly not buy a guitar unseen or unplayed. So I took a chance.I was pleasantly suprised when I unpacked the guitar.I did a few adjustments and took it to rehearsal that night.I was blown away. Right out of the box this thing screamed.I later did a full set up and it only got better.Amazing guitar for the money. Do have it set up though!I'm completly Happy!
I was pleasently suprised at the overall quality of this guitar considering the price. I put a set of D'Addario 110's and made some minor adjustments to the action and was good to go. I had expected to change some of the hardware but now that I've been play it for a few months I am happy with the humbuckers, and the tuning keys hold tune better than I had expected. Other then replacing the pick up rings from beige to black I don't expect to make any more changes.
Nice guitar for a beginner all the way up to experienced players. GREAT humbuckers and was set up perfect right out of the box. No fret buzz. Couldnt be happier!
A set neck mahogany guitar for under two bills? Seems like a no-brainer to me. This is a great deal on a workhorse guitar. I bought it expecting to replace a lot of the hardware, but with a little set-up and some 11's, this thing gets used at every gig. The pick-ups are wax-potted, which is unexpected at this price and they sound nice and crunchy through my Peavey Valve King head. Tuners are ok but go ahead and spend 5 bucks and replace the pick-up mounting rings (the beige ones look kinda goofy, get black) and you've got yourself a good looking rock-n-roll machine. Get one.
Why waste your hard-earned money on a Gibson Les Paul Faded Double Cutaway or similar model when you can get this awesome China-made Hamer for under $200. It's thicker, faster and far better!
S.O.B. this axe is awesome! Right out of the box I was blown away by it's performance. I put it through a 4 hour work out and never had to retune it. I was a little surprised by it's weight but I got over that in minutes. This guitar screams, I mean really screams. And the sustain, WOW! The neck and fret board are very smooth and comfortable. It's also very forgiving when speed is involved. This guitar has become my baby.
This is a sweet guitar. I got it for my birthday in April and it is awesome. The neck and headstock are a little heavy but other than that it is perfect. Great for beginner-intermediate guitarists.
This guitar has great action and fretwork, but that's about it. Of course, they're made overseas, so the fretwork will vary from model to model. The humbuckers are absolute crap and the tuners are weak. I bought mine used for $125 with the intentions of using it as a backup guitar, but the sound is so awful that I could never use it on stage. The narrow D-shaped neck is uncomfortable, but the double-cutaway allows for easy access to the upper registers. I would reccomend this guitar to beginners who have no sense of tone, but it's not for anyone else. Of course, it's less than $200, so you can't expect much.
