My girlfriend bought me this guitar because she thought it looked cool and would give me a better "rockstar" image when I play live, as opposed to my black LP. A salesman at the local guitar shop told to go to this site to buy this guitar because they were too pricey at the shop. I've heard Hamer makes quality guitars, but didn't think it would compare to my LP as far as quality and sound. I was dead wrong...thinking I would only use this guitar for a few metal tunes in the set when I play live...but the more I played my new Hamer, the more I feel in love with the sound, playability and the quality as well. Not to mention the looks of this guitar which is beautiful and aggressive. My LP is still my #1 baby, but for a guitar this good...you cannot go wrong...ROCK ON!

I have used this guitar at a local music store, and I was not pleased. It is exactly like the late 1970's Ibanez "lawsuit explorer" similar to the Gibson Explorer. What I mean is that it's a Gibson wannabee. It does not sound as good or play as good as the Gibson. Play it, and you will agree with me.

Beautiful guitar is this hamer standard,i dont like the sound of he pick ups the sound is too warm, but i think im gonna do an upgrade ,but other tha that if you play through a high gain amplifier this is not a problem...
This guitar does every type of genre you can pretty much play. Great humbuckers, skinny neck, beautiful paint job. All around this guitar is awsoome for those who are in a bind for a new guitar get this guitar it'll save some money!!
I picked this guitar up from my local music shop last saturday, and i must say it is the most amazing guitar i've ever played. I am an amateur, but in my three years of playing, I've played everything from a '72 Strat to a brand new Gibson Explorer, and this one has blown all of them out of the water. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plays rock, blues and metal because all of the classic tones can be found in this one guitar.
Well I have this one in my hands and to compare to a Gibson I'll have to give a big thumbs up! This guitar screams point blank. Sure Gibson's are nice but I have been the route at the tune of a couple of grand and I think the Hamer is better. The only thing I found wrong was some buffing marks which I took care of and now I just play the heck out of it. Best buy for the buck. I own three Hamer's and since I record alot I have no complains about any of them and with my Roland 30 it just sing's so if ya want something that is a grat price and plays great just buy one you won't be sorry.
This is really the best deal you can get for the money. It's comfortable to play, and it's got a great sound. The Seymour Duncan pickups are great. I'd easily make this my main weapon at any gig. This is not some cheap knockoff, it's the real deal. The looks of this guitar come second to only its sound. I wish it had two tone knobs, but apart from that minute quirk, this guitar is worth every penny. Get it. This ax is lethal and will serve its owner well.
I recently purchased this guitar, and I must say that it is the best guitar I own hands down. I own an Epiphone les Paul, and an Epiphone es-335, and this guitar puts them both to shame. I run my Standard through a Peavey XXL and a Marshall 4x12 and I couldn't ask for a better tone. I upgraded the bridge pickup to a Seymour Duncan and it sounds amazing. Great buy... no regrets.
I have had this guitar about 1 year now. This guitar is beautiful, easy to play, sounds AMAZING tone-wise, on stage it looks fantastic. I haven't been able to see a single bad thing about this guitar. I love it. It beats epiphones, and I daresay it beats Gibsons... who cares that it was made in china... it is very well built. The other guitar player in my band has a gibson: no BS here, his gibson is very nice, but I wouldn't spend what he did in getting a brand thing. They are both awesome guitars and mine goes for around 500... he paid 2 grand for his. I rather buy four hamers...
I just recieved my Standard flametop a couple days ago, and ive got to say i am blown away with the fit, finish and the tone. It came setup great right outta the box,I considered swithcing the p/u's for emg's before i got it but there is no need killer tone out of the Duncan designed stock p/u's great product!
This guitar's color is 10 times better in person. I would probably choose this over a gibson les paul it is so good. I highly reccomend it to anyone. It looks beautiful and plays awesome. I use it on a marshall half stack, digitech hot head and grunge distortions, and an equalizer and it sounds amazing.
I had a Hamer Slammer similar to this and it's night and day. I love this axe! I also have a Gibson Flying V and I like the action and neck on this Hamer Standard more than the V. Both are awseome guitars but this Hamer Standard is beautiful, great quality and a blast. I can get some great sustain out of it and just effortlessly climb all over the neck, it plays so well and easy. Out of all my guitars I play this one the most. The Cherryburst finish is gorgeous, what a finish on it. I can't believe something so reasonably priced is so good. It's well worth the money for a great looking, great playing, quality guitar.
