Love the nubone!

Quality:

This is where it gets tricky. The guitar is beautiful and sounds great, but it took a lot of work to get it there. I love the look of this guitar so much except for the cheap and too small pickguard. Honestly I would have prefered if they just had left it off. I'm not sure if I had a bad egg becuase I have never even touched another Hohner guitar before this one, but it had a backbow on this guitar. This was the worst I had ever seen on a new guitar. I loosened the truss and am still having some issues with below the fourteenth fret, but that is a much as it will loosen up. I had to then shave the saddle down in order to get it playable. The buzzing is gone and it is playable, but there is no way I could have done this if it were my first guitar.

Overall:

I have bought a lot of guitars in the 100 -300 range and this guitar ended up doing pretty well in that category after the setup. I would say if this is your first guitar DO NOT BUY THIS GUITAR unless you want to spend 25-50 on the setup. I would suggest a Jasmine for your first guitar. Inexpensive, ready to play out of the box and they hold up pretty well. If you want to spend on the high end of 300 buy a Ibanez not in the P series, AW are beautiful guitars that sound great. This guitar made me weary of buying another Hohner, but the sound of this guitar is great and I really like the look, so I will probably end up trying an essential.

I originally bought this Guitar for my teen-aged Daughter. I was Shocked at how well it sounded and how easy to play it was. I have some higher end Washburn and Ibanez Guitars. Frankly this one sounds Better and cost about a 10th of the price either of those did. I also have a Cousin that Plays Professionally (his band Frequently Opens for BIG name Groups) He has a Gibson and he has asked me more than once to play it! He loves the sound that much. If they have an Acoustic/Electric, My Next Guitar will be a Hohner!
