Ibanez AGR73T

Features:

I recently purchased  an Ibanez AGR73T for my son.  I had previously purchased an Ibanez AG95 and my son and I had both fallen in love with it, so I thought I would purchase an Ibanez for my son as a graduation present. The guitar is phenomenol and one of the most versatile and best set-up guitars (out of the box) I have had the pleasure of playing. The sustain is will hold longer than a PRS or Fender Strat. My son likes the vintage vibrato and has stretched the strings to the point that I thought they would break and the guitar remained in tune.  He also likes the metallic white finish but I would have preferred a candy apple red (if they make it)

Quality:

Ibanez makes fine guitars. I currently own four Ibanez guitars and the quality in each one is superb.

Value:

Like all other aspects of this guitar, the value is outstanding. I own other guitars that I have paid 8 - 10 times more for and the value compares equally to those guitars. It is great that Ibanez has kept the price of these Artcore guitars in an affordable range so that the average musician can afford to play a high quality guitar.

Overall:

The body size of the guitar is the primary reason I purchased the guitar. I am only 5'8" tall and  the body size of the guitar  is perfect for me. When I discovered the body was the same size as the AG95 that sealed the deal.

I have played the guitar on a Fender, Peavy and Marshall amp and it sounds equally well on each one. Have played with and without an effects processor and it sounds great both ways. It is really a versatile guitar.

Awesome Guitar

If I had to categorize my playing style, I'd say I am a bluesman.     After graduating High School, I was given enough money as graduation     presents from friends and family to purchase a new guitar for college,     and a hollow bodied guitar seemed ideal given the type of music I play.

The humbucking neck pickups sound absolutely phenomenal for a raw blues     sound, and turned up all the way, this guitar, in conjunction with my     Fender Twin Reverb creates a natural overdrive that my Squire, my former     weapon of choice, simply could not achieve. The Bridge Pickups sound     absolutely gorgous when playing 9 chords for a Jazzy, bell-sounding warm     tone. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the tone of this guitar     is.

Playability-wise, it leaves some to be desired. If     you're into blues, you're not going to sound like SRV; the neck is too     fat for that, so slowing down a bit comes with the territory. It's also     quite heavy; what you should get from this is that you're not going to     shred on this guitar. But melodic leads are quite achievable. I had been     jamming with a band on the Miles Davis classic "Caravan" on a Epiphone     Les Paul, and switching to this archtop allowed opened my mind to some     truly awesome spanish-sounding phrygian leads.

Aesthetically, this guitar looks, for a lack of a better term, tacky.     The white finish and gold hardware looks a bit ostentatious, but who     really cares about looks when it can play the way it does. I love this     guitar, and I take my guitars very seriously. Definitely worth the     price.

Extremely Versatile

Overall:
I love hollow body guitars but most are really bulky and heavy and really good smaller body sizes are expensive. This guitar is an exception to that thought. It is really nice looking and built with quality - the knobs are the kind every guitar should have. The sound is exceptionally good especially with 11-48 gauge strings - the Electro Harmonix sound great on this. I play mostly rhythm and the sound with this gauge is tremendous. The neck is smooth and fast. the guitar is very light and handles with ease. The depth(2 inches)is a bit deeper than your traditional semi and gives it more of a true full hollow body sound as advertised. The mini humbuckers do it all and bring out an array of different tones to meet any genre of sound. Get one !!
