Comments about Ibanez Artcore AF85 Hollow-Body Electric Guitar:
All I can think of that I would like to see is a shinier fretboard and an allen wrench for adjusting the truss rod.
Absoluely stunning looks. The flamed maple violin sunburst Ibanez AF85 Hollow Body is just as it looks in the picture only the gloss finish is exquisite. Wood all around, no laminate and the colors of neck and body match very well. Thrilled as soon as I opened the box. The pick-ups sound wonderful and give a wide range of sound from a beautiful mellow to a rockers delight. The vintage vibrato tailpiece is a licensed Gretch and designed indentical to the Bigsby. Awesome piece and a lot of fun. Not whimpy, but solid heavy piece that will last. The roller bar bridge is a plus.
This guitar, like many Ibanez I have seen, played and owned, is so well constructed. Couldn't find one thing wrong. Everything from the tailpiece to the headstock was in perfect alignment. Set up to play right out of the box, only had to tune two strings and the action was awesome. The strings aren't exactly what I want. Just personal preference as I like a warmer sounding string. Smooth, fast and easy playing with shorter scale neck, especially for one with small hands. Wasn't a mark on this and the finish is perfect. Every detail was taken care of, all I had to do was remove the foam from under the bridge, take the coverings off the humbuckers and remove the tags from the tuning pegs. The quality of sound is incredible. From lows to highs, full bodied and just fills the room. Clear as a bell. Love the depth and sustain that this has. Can't say enough about it. I fell for this guitar from the fist few chords and the first run of picking.
Excellent guitar for the money. Put a BIG name brand on here and it would sell for twice as much if not more. Well worth every penny as far as I'm concerned. Great buy in my opinion.
