Go from acoustic to electric and back with ease.

If you need a traditional guitar that can easily switch from acoustic to electric, you’ll found it in the Ibanez Artwood AW70ECE traditional acoustic-electric guitar. With Fishman Sonicore pickups and Ibanez SST Shape Shifter preamp with onboard tuner, players will notice how smooth the transition is from acoustic to electric and back.

The AW70ECE is fitted with the Ivorex II nut, which is stronger and more durable than bone and even harder than the original Ivorex. Ivorex II allows brilliant highs and more pronounced lows with less mid-range, making it perfect for amplification. The Ivorex II saddle is specially formulated to provide ultra-fast response and maximum sound transfer to the body.

The Ibanez SPT preamp has a 3-band tone control and shape control along with a built-in electronic tuner. In addition to the 1/4” output jack, a balanced XLR jack is included for direct connection to the PA system.

Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AW70ECE Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

It's easily comparable to a Takamine legacy series, but for about a grand less. In fact, while playing, it I might have to look at the name on the headstock to tell the difference.
The electronics are exceptional at this price. The shape shifter preamp adds interesting color to the tone. It seems to reject feedback, as well. The XLR and 1/4 outputs, also offer some real signal chain options. And, both outputs can be used simultaneously. It sounds sweet unplugged, too.
It has a nice finish (in black) the satin neck has a good feel. The binding along the neck and around the headstock adds some class.

Comments about Ibanez Artwood Series AW70ECE Solid Top Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I played around on this beauty at my local music shop before deciding to go home and order it. The finish is beautiful, as well as the color. I plugged it up to my amp and the treble, bass, and mid are all very adjustable and you can definitely find a setting for your taste. My only complaint is that it came with a small crack in the back.
The action was a little high for my taste, so I took it in and got it lowered. Now the guitar is perfect, in my opinion.
I'd highly recommend this for an intermediate acoustic-electric guitar.
Also worth mentioning, it came strung with D'Addario strings. That's a plus.
