This is a great piece of kit. It sounds awesome(changed the bridge pu for a GFS Crunchy PAF, though), clean or distorted. It really shines for any kind of music where distortion is needed, really. I just wish I got the 300 instead since I dig it's finish more and the strap button on the cutaway fell off two months after I got it, leaving an inconvenient hole. Otherwise, this is a great guitar for the money.
Just received this. Shipping arrived sooner than expected. Product is super sleek. Great Clean Sound (the origination of its Tone) sounds great distorted also. Has sweet lengthy sustain. Hated to put it down yesterday evening to go to bed. Will spend the majority of the day now monkeying around with it and my amp. Setup was good out of the box. Feels great, is not too heavy. What a deal. The only thing I may change in the future would be to put some Grover Tuners on it and it should be set for anything, any style. Thoroughly impressed...especially for the price. :) I do not feel anyone would be disappointed with this purchase. My sons could not keep their hands off. They now want one also to add to their collection.
This is a killer guitar, the paint job is second to none and flourescenty, even before i plugged it in the amp it sounded beautiful a bit on the heavy side. After i plugged it in and started playing i was instantly hooked and couldnt stop. bottom line this is an amazing guitar for the price and is amazing for anyone or any type of music
I've read all the reviews and decided to order it. When I received it, I was surprised about the quality of this guitar. I've been playing for over 25 years, this guitar is almost as good as my Les Paul (Gibson). So you have my blessing , buy it now before they change the price. You will not be disappointed . Guarantee
I love how this guitar looks. The candy red is sweet - with the white trim and black body / headstock to contrast it. The Axe plays nice as well. Its a great guitar for a starter. Only problem I see is a minor black freckle in the candy finish. but what guitar does not come with a small imperfection.
This guitar is great. My only problem is the lack of a tremelo. It is a great step up from my Affinity Strat Squier. I use this with me Behringer GMX210 amp and it's great. I would strongly recommend this guitar to anyone, beginner to advanced.
I puchased this guitar a month ago. I remember when Artist were popular models in the early eighties. These took a back seat to strat mods, they have alway been great guitar with tone and range. This is a good guitar. I upgraded the pickups with Seymours PAF and now this is a great guitar. Well constructed body has great sustains. The hot pickups give it les paul character. This is a lot of guitar at this price point. incredible!
I bought this guitar about 3 weeks ago from this site and have been playing it non-stop. I loved how it sounded right out of the box! I run it through my VOX amp and I have a Wah pedal - that's it! And it sounds amazing! I gave it a 4.5 on quality, because I thought that the action (in my opinion) needs to be adjusted slightly lower and I had to change the strings right away (I like Power Slinky)...but again...just my opinion. The strings that came with the guitar were just too light for me. I also own a mexican Fender Tele with seymour duncan hot rails added to the bridge pickup...love that guitar too. This Ibanez is really great, and for the price, you can't beat it! If you're looking for a guitar with good sustain, nice clean sounds (in all 3 switch positions), and ripping distortion and crunch...GET THIS GUITAR.
Super nice top - Candy apple paint is flawless and really nice. Binding is nice and straight, off white in color. Sounds fantastic - Full sounding just like an LP. A little on the heavy side, but not as heavy as a Gibson LP. Frets are nice (no sharp frets like some other Ibanez products), Set neck - This baby sustains wonderfully and the tone pot and volume actually work! Ibanez really did a number on this one and this guitar (at least the one that I have) gives standard Gibsons & Hamers a big run for thier money! Go get it now - before Ibanez smartens up and charges the price it is worth!
Just got this guitar today. I've been playing for over 42 years and I own 2 custom shop guitars and wanted something inexpensive for outdoor summer gigs that are hot, humid and sweaty. Well, this guitar doesn't cost much, but for the money, it ROCKS !!!!!! Plugged it into my tube amp as soon as I got it and it is much better than the price would indicate. Had to lower the action a little, but I already love this guitar and will treat it just as kindly as my expensive guitars. It is gorgeous and well made, plays and sounds excellent. Ibanez is amazing.
