Comments about Ibanez ARZ800 Electric Guitar:

Majoring in music is where I'm at right now, and i will be playing in the jazzensemble for my school, this guitar has a very good balance in clean. I love the wood used to make this guitar as well. I don't like needing a battery fire the pickups though. Oh well its totally worth every penny!

      Compared to the JEM

      By Mike

Comments about Ibanez ARZ800 Electric Guitar:

I'm very happy except for the output jack..
The only bad thing I have to say about this guitar is that it came with a defective output jack which I was willing to just replace on my own but I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem to send it in for service. I tried a different cable etc....put in a new jack and presto. The guitar plays great. I'm used to playing on a JEM so i wasn't used to the slightly larger fret size but they are just fine. I usually play with 9's but decided to throw some 11's on this one and go with D tuning with the effortless ability to go to drop C. The neck is a little more narrow and thick than the JEM but again not enough to impede my playing. Also the back of the neck has a gloss finish so not used to that either but my hand had no problem moving around on it. The cutaway is very nice and I didn't expect to get up to the 24th fret so easily. It is a very comfortable position, plenty of room and I have big hands. The active pickups are very nice. You can bring them up a bit higher than passive pickups because they don't have as much of an adverse effect on the strings. I think I ended up about 3-4mm on the bridge I forget what I set the neck at but much lower. I use a Satchurator distortion pedal and it screams. Growling lows and searing highs without getting shrill. The pickups sound good clean as well but I get more tonal range on the JEM with the HSH configuration. All in all a very nice guitar and I would recommend it to any metal player out there!!

      Okay...

Comments about Ibanez ARZ800 Electric Guitar:

Well, I was at my local guitar shop and wanted to buy a set of EMGs, but I'd never played EMGs before so I grabbed this guitar and plugged it in. The pickups were great and I actually left the store with the KFK EMG set, but the guitar... It was incredibly comfortable and was top notch Ibanez quality. But it just didn't play that great. There was lots of fret buzzand the actions was incredibly low. Also the bridge was quite bad for palm muting compared to a Tune-o-Matic bridge. Anyways I guess those are my gripes...

      Great guitar

Comments about Ibanez ARZ800 Electric Guitar:

Got one three weeks ago. Saw it at a local store, picked it up after two minutes of playing it. Every note on every string rings perfectly in tune and clear with no buzz, even though the action is what I would call "shred-head" low. The pickups get any sound you need and have PLENTY of power to distort the front-end of any traditional tube amp. I checked it through my Twin, Hiwatt, ...gorgeous, clear, every note is distinguishable, detailed, even in complex Jazz chords with multiple disonances.Through the Marshall it just screams! The neck joint is smooth and really does make the high positions more accessible. The control knobs are simple and easy to reach. That's cool because they actually do nice things. You can get a big vocabulary of tones with just the two pickups, the tone knob, the volume and amp settings. It really responds to dynamics well, from whisper-quiet to raging ripp-yer-hed-off squeals. The tuning machines are smooth, quiet and do NOT budge. Once the strings are stretched, this puppy stays in tune despite brutal bends. The bridge is solid and locks down so no energy is lost to crummy connections. Tailpiece? ...same thing. The top- loading tail-piece also makes changing strings easy & fast.I have two complaints: I wish there was a better selection of colors. Although the photos make this look kind-of pimped-out, in person it looks classy and under stage lights it looks spooky-good.This is a little heavier than I like, but that's OK since it is balanced so well.Like all the best Ibanez necks, they are smart enough to engineer the wood with laminations and three good pieces of quarter-sawn maple. The neck is straight, true and rigid. If it is anything like my other Ibanez necks, it will stay that way permanently. In terms of tone and play-ability, this is what a Les Paul wishes it could be at a fraction of the cost. Unless you want bragging rights or enjoy wasting money on name-brands that don't live up to there past reputation, avoid Gibson and get one of these. Just try one out at a local dealer. Make up your own mind.I have been playing guitar professionally since 1972. This is better than ANY Les Paul I have ever owned.I'll still keep my old 59 Paul... in the case, in a locker, at the bank. Maybe when I decide to get a new car I'll sell it. For playing gigs or sessions, THIS is my new axe.
