Figured ash for exotic looks and powerful sound.

There are a lot of guitars to choose from. The Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is different. Singular in looks and sound because it's made from exotic figured ash. The grain patterns are striking. It's amazing to find an exotic wood guitar in this price range.

For faithful reproduction of acoustic tone, a B-Band UST pickup is paired with the Ibanez SRTn preamp with notch filter and an onboard tuner. Tune anytime, anywhere. You'll also be ready for whatever connections are available; the EW20ASE is equipped with balanced 1/4" and XLR outputs.

Paired with the fine wood are high-end cosmetic appointments also found on guitars costing much more: an abalone rosette, Ibanez chrome die-cast tuners and a natural high-gloss finish. If you've been holding back on an acoustic guitar purchase because you haven't found the right features at the right price, your wait is over.

like i have said above, AWESOME GUITAR, AWESOME VALUE, GORGEOUS, SOUNDS GORGEOUS PLUGGED IN. my only hang up was that i had the battery compartment issue when i first bought the guitar. but since then it has been smooth sailing. so i give it a 9.5
great eq system on the guitar...you can turn up bass, mids, and treble, independently. the onboard tuner is awesome. the shape function works well. the cutaway is well designed. a very structurally sound guitar. the only problem i have had has been with the battery compartment for the pickup. the design of the battery compartment could use some improvement. once i made the necesarry adjustments it is no longer an issue, but it was an issue at first. overall though a 9.
wood is great. the pickup sounds awesome!!! i have people tell me all the time how great my guitar sounds at open mics and often get the "oooohhhh, that's a preeety guitar". and it is. it is a real head turner and a joy for the ears. my only issue with the quality stems from the battery compartment pickup issue i had. i love ibanez and i want them to improve in that area, so quality wise i give it a 9 because the battery compartment needs improvement. everything else quality wise is a 10.
you will not find a better value, period. i am rambling to say more than that, but i want to add that taylor exotic woods are well in to the 4,000's. this guitar looks and plays like a million bucks. don't be fooled by deans. they look like a million bucks but don't play like it. ibanez exotic wood is an incredible line of guitars. value wise, it is INCREDIBLE!

This guitar is beautiful, and for the price not a bad guitar, but there are better guitars on the market in this price range. I have a Takamine and an Ephiphone that are comparable in price, but sound twice as good and have much better action. If you are looking for a pretty guitar go ahead and get this one. If sound and playability matter look elsewhere. I think the Epiphone PR5 sounds twice is good when plugged in and is cheaper, and there is no comparison to the action between the two the Epiphone is better.Just about any of the Takamine EG series guitars are better.

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

For the price the looks of this guitar is out of the park. The slim neck profile offers excellent playability. The electronics get the job done, but I would have preferred a Fishman setup. It doesn't have the richness of a mahogany or rosewood body, but it really has a unique tone. Overall I would give this a 4 out of 5 rating. Excellent for any beginner/intermediate guitarists.

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've owned this guitar for over a year now and it has not let me down once. It sounds amazing and plays just as well. The tuners are tight, the preamp is amazing with its onboard reverb and it has its notch filter. Tuner is spot on as well. With that said... The way its built?... Amazing! The quality of the build and the materials are comparable to those acoustic which cost $800+ from other makers. Take this from someone who's been playing for over 13 years and has only found one acoustic that has stuck out over the rest. Not too mention I've had it well over a year, so it's not like its a new novelty for me. If you get this little gem you will not be disappointed.

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a fierce and sophisticated package. Stunning and dramatic appearance combined with impeccable craftsmanship, a smooth action, great tone and quality electronics. As i sat in GC i compaired it to it's cousin, the zebra wood version which had a deeper somewhat warmer tone. I prefered this one right away It was a no brainer.I love this guitar. Not to mention the quilted ash means you will have a guitar that basically has fingerprints and you could meet ten people with the exact same guitar and no two wood patterns would be alike. Just a small plus among many more important features. This guitar sounds great both plugged or unplugged. Rich, bright sustain. Even before having it setup the action was super smooth with a little out of the box buzz of course. It's light weight, has a thin neck and even has a PA system jack which is pretty cool. All around I give it a strong five stars. I havn't had any issues with the battery compartment as some have claimed but if i do i will update this review. Buy this guitar.

This is a great guitar. Plays very easy, and neck is fast. Sweet on fingering chords. Play it threw a Peavey classic 30 and easy to control feedback. Sounds good straight or by amp.If your not sure about this guitar dont be. You will be happy.

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

when i play out with this guitar it is constantly getting compliments for its looks, which i love. but more importantly to me, is that it has never once had a problem and sounds AWESOME! i hook it up to my boss gt8 and play wah with it, mild distortion, octave bass, doing looping and there is never feedback, and it always sounds great. i have nothing bad to say about it whatsoever and i've had it for several years now.

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I reviewed this axe a few years ago when I first bought it, but after three years of playing and public use (I lead the band at church a couple times a month) I'd like to re-review.I've used this guitar with a variety of setups, but currently I run through a Boss TU-2 into a Nova Delay, then direct into the soundboard, then into a Bose tower system (we use 3 towers with subs).Pros:- Sparkling tone, good balance, low Ibanez action- Quality electronics with good EQ- Looks gorgeous on the wall next to my Les Paul- Terrific with the Nova Delay- Still stays in tune well after 3 yearsCons: - Cracks in the finish, by the electronics - there when I bought it.- Developed a rattle after about 2 years. The hex nut around the cable jack had come loose. - Doesn't fit in the case the GC rep sold with it. The case eventually split at the seam, though it ALMOST fit enough that I didn't notice when buying. As with any wood product, make sure you try BEFORE you buy. They all sound and look unique.

I have owned this guitar for several years now. I currently am not using it for performance. Unfortunate, as I love to play it.Pros: Well built instrumentBeautiful woodBeautiful tone plugged or unpluggedGreat priceCons:The electronics fail after a few years. The cost to replace the electronics can range from $130 - $230.If you pay the cost for replacing the electronics, you haven't saved any money buying the guitar. If you don't replace the electronics, you are stuck with a white elephant.

          Great acoustic for amazing price

Comments about Ibanez EW20ASE Exotic Wood Figured Ash Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Ibanez Acoustic-Electric figured ash cutaway is a must. Besides its beautiful appearance, its tone is even better. It works wonderfully with acoustic amps, which shows its full potential. Every guitar player needs at least 1 good acoustic, and this is what you are looking for. If you hate the bad economy as much as I do, good guitars seem impossible to afford. But Ibanez has taken that to thought, and given us amazing guitars for amazing prices. My friend who helped me pick out this guitar said that this one sounded better than the $4000 C.F. Martin he was playing a few days before. I have Elixr strings on it, which deliver a clean and crisp acoustic sound. This guitar is great for any kind of music you play. I love this guitar for playing Jack Johnson, The Avett Brothers, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Noah and the Whale, even Interpol! This guitar will not dissapoint you and has pleased me very much. What are you waiting for..
