This guitar is spectacular. I have two. The only thing I've replaced on both guitars are the tuners. I've installed locking tuners for the guitar to better stay in tune (Also using graphite [pencil] under the strings on the nut has helped immensely). I use the floating bridge almost constantly when I play (without whammy bar) for expression. The harmonics sound beautiful. The tonal range between bridge and neck pickups is spectacular (factory pickups). This guitar is just amazing.

I bought one of these from someone at my school last year used and with no modifications. The action is a bit much when u go high up the neck, but it's not too bad. The pickups haa a great, thick tone when run through distortion and it has a wonderful clean tone but it's a bit bland. I would reccomend switching out the pickups with something else if you get one. The tuning stability of it isn't all that great, since it's got a plastic nut and loose tuners, but those can be fixed easily. I use mine as a backup guitar for gigs, or whenever I need to use something with a humbucker. It's not the greatest guitar ever, but if you're a begining guitarist or just someone with a budget this instrument is ideal.

Great Neck, Great Action

By Mike-gnHSz

from California

These guitars are great. Ibanez is the leader in quality control by far the best in detail. After reading reviews I found that I needed to comment. All new guitars need to be set up. On the GSA 60 you need to add the extra trem spring that comes with it then you need to tighten the truss rod just slightly, or it will never stay in tune very long. Use the allens that come with it to adjust the truss rod and the bridge put on some of Ernie's 9-42's then set the PU's out a little. Guitar hasn't a pick gaurd which gives more sustain and less feedback. The neck is fast like a Strat even has a skunkstripe. I can really appreciate Ibanez a brand that can be trusted.

A Great Value

I highly recommend this guitar. It is very versatile and can hold its own with much more expensive guitars. It is very high quality and durable.

I've been debating getting this thing for a while, but when I tried it out at my local music store I was sold. The neck feels really smoth and fast, and the sound quality is amazing. It also looks great and the rammy is fun to play with even though I don't use it much.My only complaints about it are: 1 there's no pick guard, I've scratched up pickguards in the past and don't want to do that to a guitar. 2 the rammy can only bend the pitch about 1/4 step up (or about 2 hole steps down), but that's no problem cause I can bend the string. 3 the tuning nobes are cheep and are hard to get in tune.Overall, great guitar, and I now offically trust Ibanez.

The Price is Right

A Great Guitar! I bought this guitar about two years ago and paid about the same price. The playablilty versus the cost is unmatchable. I play with a small band and this guitar does everything from grunge to free fallin'. Pick this one up and get some effects!! It sounds great and plays better than a Mexican Strat.

Favorite guitar

I have owned this guitar for some time... I learned how to play with this thing. Its stock humbucker has incredible tones and its single coils are nothing short of amazing either. The only thing that would make this guitar better is a set bridge!

Review

By Daniel Ellis

from Portland, OR

I bought this guitar thinking that it was a great deal but when i brought it home i relized that it was a worthless guitar. It has horrible sound and it went out of tune within an hour of playing. This has to be one of the worst guitars that i have ever owned and i am ashamed and embarassed of buying it.

Nice guitar

By Vlad-a6CN2

from Resita,Romania

I use this guitar now and I like it. I play for 2 years. It has a good sound and it's ok for: rock (hard, soft, metal, classic, alternative), blues, jazz, reggae, but if you want to play punk or black/death metal it's not the greatest choice.

Awesome for Beginners.

I've had my GSA60 for about a year now and it has served it's purpose well. The pickups really stink though. They were in the guitar for maybe 2 months before I yanked the humbucker out for a SH-13 Dimebucker. Now with .08's and the new humbucker, it has more "OOMPH" but unless you're playing Blues or classic rock, you will be disappointed by the tone. However, Classic Rock and blues is the best thing this guitar's got... And it's got it pretty good.
