A while ago, I became interested in guitars and decided I wanted to play guitar myself. I researched the guitar, read reviews, and asked store retailers about various guitars, famous guitarists and the equipment they play, and what guitars sound and play well. I considered several guitar beginner value packages, including two Ibanez packs, two Squier packs, a Peavey guitar package, and yet another package from ESP. I had narrowed my selection down to two: (a) the Squier StratPak, and (b) the Ibanez JS40 Jumpstart package. I purchased the Ibanez package in early May. When I received my guitar (a very nice Metallic Red color), I was very pleased. The finish is nice, the two single-coil, one humbucking pickup configuration sounds good, the neck is smooth and feels good, the action is good, and the fret and nut work is very good for a value-priced guitar. But most importantly, the guitar is enjoyable to play. In the few months I've been playing, I have continued to practice many riffs and chords with my guitar, and have progressed very well. My only complaint is very minor; the strings that come with the guitar aren't great, so I replaced mine with Ernie Ball strings and they play well. This may be the best beginner package you can buy. The guitar that comes with this package is better than the guitar in the Squier packs; I've played them both. The amp that comes with the pack is awesome. It sounds good clean, and has roaring, excellent distortion. The other included items, such as the gig bag, tuner, cable, strap, video, picks, and booklet are all quality accesories. If you purchase this package, you will not be disappointed. It is a great value at a great price.

I rushed into buying this package. Looking back, I wish I had saved my money just a little bit longer and gotten a standard strat, and worried about the amp later. Since I bought the package, I've purchased a much bigger amp. The package amp is a good amp, for practice only! Don't even think about playing live for anyone. You should probably just connect the headphones and leave it that way, if you want any volume that is. Out of the box, it sounded great, a few months later was a different story. The neck pickup is extremely fuzzy, so I try to stay away from it. The humbucker is strong though. I say, save your money and get a better guitar. If you're a begginner you don't have to worry about playing live for a while. Get a good guitar, worry about the amp later. Don't rush!

when i got this ive been playing for a few months. the features are great except for the amp. i ve been playing for a while now and i still have it. i recommend this guitar for beginners not anyone else
This is a pretty good starter pack for beginners. The humbucker in the bridge puts distortion on pretty well. DO NOT judge single coil pickups by the ones in the middle and neck. Fender single coils are much hotter and better sounding. The amp and accesories are disgraceful, but neccescary. The amp sounds decent with a good OD or distortion pedals. good quality, but alot of feedback and harmonics.
I got this guitar about two years ago and I still use it because it is simply a well built guitar. It has served me well and I basically learned how to play on it.Pros:- It is well built. I've had it hit the floor a couple times and it's still working fine.-The amp is pretty good. I still use it as a practice amp.-The instructional video covers the basics for learning the ELECTRIC, ACOUSTIC,and BASE guitar.-The guitar overall is good.cons:-when you use the whammy bar after a while, the strings go out of tune.-The strings weren't very good so I had to replace them.-The tuner is hard to read so I would just buy a new one.-the cord isn't very good. nothing to serious though.all in all, its a great deal that you should take advantage of. I would recommend this product especially to beginner guitarists because this deal gives them everything they needs to start to learn this instrument.
Features - I give it a ten because it comes with everything, and I mean everything you need to start out.Quality - I have had this for about 2 years and it still plays great, nothing has broken, and everything that comes with it is great. When they talk about this guitar they aren't lying about any of it.Value - This is a great price for this pack, except almost every other value pack is cheaper, but this one is still more worth it.Overall - This is the best starting pack you can find, great insructional dvd, great guitar, great amp, and the best overall valueprobably you can find. You won't go wrong buying this value pack.
I've played on a lot of cheap priced guitars, but this is by far the most under apprecated of them all. I bought it for a gift, but when I tested it to make sure it worked properly, it was no longer a gift.
I had gotten this about two years ago, and i love it more than most guitars i have played. i had taught myself how to play on this guitar, and i think it really helps, because of how wide the frets are. The DVD, as well taught me plenty, but the only thing is that it didn't teach me artificial harmonics.
This guitar is awesome for it's price. I've had mine for a year and a half. The frets arevery wide, but after awhile it helped stretch out my fingers. I still use the guitar quite alot specially when I'm learning new songs. The guitar is very well balenced. I can let go of the neck and it stays in place very well The amp is great. It sounds fantastic on clear , and it sounds just as good with distortion (except it lowers the volume) The accessories are a great deal to.
I have owned this pack for 7 months now and it has held up great. The guitar it self will chip VERY easy and it has alot of feedback but for a clean sound it works great. I use this every day and I have no problems with it. The amp works great but I prefer getting a new cable and new strings but other than that I love this.
This is a good beginner guitar! I've had the guitar for over a year and it's held up pretty well. The cord is cheap and quit on me a week or two ago so I got live wire! The amps ok it'll fill a room with nose but not good for band practices not loud enough to keep up with drums so I got a 200w amp. Strings stink get new ones asap! If your a beginner stick with light strings like 11s. Guitar itself is pretty good a lot of feed back(Bad whiring) I asked for a blue and got a black sparkled one and loved it so I kept it. Humbuckers are sweet something you'll never find on a fender squier.
Ok well I only have the guitar but I really like it. First off I never use the whammy bar so it stays in tune pretty well. Also I think it has a pretty sick sound when plugged thru a marshall mode four or any amp for that matter. It's great for beginners but I have to say I've played a 3000 dollar les paul custom from the gibson custom shop and as good as that is this can be just as good with a few pickup changes
