I have owned this guitar for a year and a half; it was my first. I just graduated to a new Takamine, and I thought I would write a farewell review of sorts, because this guitar deserves it. I bought this guitar on a whim really hoping I would stick with it and learn to play an instrument. As soon as I received it I brought to my best friend?s house whom has played for 10+ years. He gave it a look, a strum, and then, before I know it, he is making this guitar talk, ever so softly, the beautiful language of music. This guitar CAN sound beautiful. It sure does make wanting to keep playing easier when you KNOW it can sound great. This guitar will keep you coming back. It is just a great guitar to start out on, plain and simple. However, some things you should be aware of, is that the neck on this guitar is REALLY wide, and whatever you do, don?t try and get it ?set-up?. I took it to my repair man so he could lower the action a bit, and sense then I have had buzzing on the 3rd and 12th frets ? two very important frets. So I had him replace the nut to the factory one because I can?t stand buzzing! The action on this guitar is really high from factory. It makes playing it harder than other guitars, but for just starting out, it is perfect. If you can learn to make this guitar sound good, then when you get a better one, it will be soooo easy to play. You will feel like your skill took a 6-month jump forwards. I still own this guitar, and do not plan on selling it. It has become my camp fire and hiking buddy. If it wasn?t for this guitar, I would not have the relationship with music I have now. Thank you Ibanez and musician?s friend for sparking a life-long love of guitar with me.

My main gripe is the fret work. The bottom edge of the neck is smooth, but the top edge feels like a saw when you run your finger across it. I should have sent it back immediately for exchange, but didn't. The first three frets under the third string cannot be made to not buzz and make a "thunggg" sound, no matter how close to the fret the finger is or how hard you press. The guitar looks good, but there are some real quality issues to be adressed in the finishing stages of manufacture. If I had it to do over, I would not buy this model. Even an entry-level guitar should play properly. I also had to shell out another $20 for a real guitar tuner. The small one that comes with this package is so difficult to get right, as to be almost useless. I would say at this factory, someone is asleep on the line, as is the quality inspector.

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I've been through many guitars, but this was my first. I can honestly say that after all of my guitars this was the best one for the money. I bought it off a friend for 50 and my guitar teacher was amazed at the sounds it made for an entry level guitar. If you put some nice strings on it, it really sounds expensive and high level. I would highly recommend this for entry level, intermediate and even experienced players. This was by far the cheapest guitar I've owned and it plays far better than ones I've played for triple the price. Worth every cent!

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I got this guitar 5 years ago as a starter guitar and to this day I still pound it b/c it is a really awesome guitar for the price definitely the best starter acoustic that you can buy, it sounds great and plays nice, this guitar comes with some very nice accessories, I was very impressed with the quality of strap for a starter package, I don't normally use a strap on my acoustic so I use this for my electric guitar, and so far it has held up for almost 2 years now. So this is a very good choice if you want to start playing, and this is even a good choice for a guitar that you take with you just to chill with and you couldn't care less if it got beaten up a bit.

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I bought this guitar for my 13 y/o son to begin classes with. It's a great starter guitar with very good playability and tone. The neck setup was great right out of the box, with very little adjustment needed.
The only drawback I've seen is a bit of a rough finish to the fretwork, along the top and bottom edge of the fretboard is almost sawlike. Nothing a bit of emery cloth can't cure though.
Overall a great value for a student/intermediate guitar and one I would recommend.

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I was amazed when I opened the box & saw it. It looks as good as a "high end" guitar. The sound is loud & smooth. My only problem was a couple of fret burrs which was a 2 minute job to fix. I tightened the neck 1/2 a round & put a set of Martin FX strings on it. WOW! I have 4 Ibanez guitars & am quite fond of all 4. Ibanez is an
      astounding mfg.co. Try one!

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I received this JamPack as a gift from my dad for my 14th birthday in 2004. 9 years later, I still play this guitar almost every day. I learned on it, progressed to "better, more expensive" acoustics which eventually were sold, and have hung onto this cheap Ibanez. My example has press-in tuners, which is my only real gripe. These may be upgraded to bolt-in tuners someday, but i'm in no rush. The guitar holds tune for weeks (really), and holds intonation and a setup forever (I set it up once, when I first learned how to work on my own guitars somewhere around 2008. It's still holding that setup perfectly).

The build is very solid, the tone is perfectly passable, especially considering what was paid, and I've had a very hard time justifying higher priced guitars because of just how much I enjoy my cheap Ibanez.

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

Just received my guitar today. I am very pleased with the package that I received. The tuner that is pictured up close is not the one that you get though. You receive the tuner that is in the overall layout picture shown with the guitar. The tuner is pretty cheap and kinda hard to use so I just downloaded one off Itunes to use. Overall thought the guitar and accessories are well made and I was especially pleased with the look of the guitar and the qaulity of the bag that comes with it. I am very pleased with this packaged set and would gladly recommend it to others!

Comments about Ibanez JamPack IJV50 Quickstart Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I've had this guitar for about 10 years now. It was my very first guitar, way back when I was first starting out. This guitar isn't high quality, but for the price you should know that. Everything about this guitar is decent- the sound, the look, the finish. It gets the job done, and will be a great guitar for you if you're just starting out. The main gripe I have with it is reliability. I've treated mine very well besides a few dents and some fading on the finish near the fretboard, but the sound just faded. Maybe it's because I have much better quality guitars now but it just doesn't sound right to me anymore and I basically just keep it for the memories. The frets buzz now, too. But you'll get that on just about any starter pack guitar. It doesn't last in quality but honestly it's not made to. It's made so you'll learn on it for a few years, then graduate to a much higher quality guitar if you're committed. And honestly it does that job very, very well.
