I was once an Ibanez hater... I thought their guitars were cheap rip-offs of Fenders. At this price, I figured why not get one, and if I dislike it, it's not such a bad loss. Well, I got it in the mail about 6 weeks ago, and I was surprised. The body and neck are amazingly comfortable. The guitar is very resonant. The bridge/trem are not great, but I don't use the trem much anyway, so that didn't bug me. The only problem with this guitar is the pickups... they have very little substance. This should not be a shock to anyone (look at the price). The best thing to do is buy replacement pickups and then you have an amazing guitar. So, in the end, I say GRAB ONE BEFORE THEY"RE ALL GONE! Pickup replacement is cheap and easy if you know what you're looking for.

Understand that with these types of modern guitars, you're buying features, not necesserily quality, and certainly not tone. So it's stupid of them to sell these things WITHOUT all the specs you could hope for, namely 24 frets and a decent trem. No point having a trem system unless its a proper floating one. However I'll grant that different players are after different things, take that into mind when reading this.I've grown out of the feel of the guitar, the neck is TOO thin. It's uncomfortable. However the biggest problem I have is the sound. Versatile perhaps, but to my ear its just too thin; no depth or warmth.Overall, 5/10 as an ENTRY LEVEL guitar and something of a rip off.

Great center-fielder!

By RoxGTRist

from Bellflower, CA

When I first picked up this guitar, I was cynical - most guitars I've played in the same price range don't quite live up to the pretty cosmetics when you plug 'em in for a bench test. This SA160 would be the exception. I tested it with a Marshall DSL stack, a Crate Excalibur stack, a Vetta stack, and several different combo amps - the little guitar held up admirably. Great action, soft, easy neck, and a versatile range of tonal possibilites - I could use this axe for a hard hitting alternative-rock tone, then back it off and use the single-coils for some clean blues work. Another nice feature - THE TREM ACTUALLY CAME BACK in tune after I used it! Pretty rare among lower-end guitars. For the money and the versatility, I highly recommend this guitar! Go buy one!

I wouldn't reccomend this guitar to pro's. I have had this guitar for about 3 years now and everything about it is pretty good except for some horrible buzz on the first through fourth frets. It is very easy to play and its very fast. Overall its pretty good and its what I learned on but I would reccomend putting up some extra cash for something better.

I bought it almost a year ago and it plays well. If anyone doesn't want to go and spend the money for a strat then I would suggest this guitar. It's very light and very easy to control. I hope you can enjoy this guitar like I do.

awsome

I owned one of these for a while before I bought my telecaster, and I kind of regret selling it cause I really liked it. It was extremely light and the body was very thin but it got a nice fat sound with the humbucker and the singles sound great clean and with light distortion for blues. The neck very thin, a little to thin for my taste, but it has a nice feel to it. Great guitar especially for $250, the cost $350 when i bought mine used for $250.

I got mine for here, new in the box, what a deal! I wish it had a lock down trem, but for the price, no complaints...

Well, a friend of mine has this guitar, their parents gave it for a present. He always tells me that this is a super guitar for the price. I think its a good price for a good guitar, but thereare better things if you are more seriously in music, you dont have to see just the cheap prices.
