The main reason I didnt like this guitar was the neck joint. It's not a neck-through or even a set so shredding on this thing was a pain for me to reach the upper frets. A suggestion: Get the ESP M-1 NTB. Its essentially the same guitar with a neck-through joint.
I knew what I wanted in my next guitar: A single EMG 81, ebony fretboard, revere headstock. This left my selection narrow, and it was between this and the ESP M1 standard. I prefer the looks of this guitar more, but the neckthrough of the ESP is also nice... I settled for this one mainly because it was slightly less, and I love the Red with the blank fret board. The Quality overall is good, my example has two SMALL blemishes that only I have noticed so far. The tone is very solid. The neck plays well and has good action, mine actually came mostly set up with only minor tweaking needed. The included hard case fits well and is a bonus. I would recommend this guitar to any fellow player who wants a simple rig that sounds and looks great.
This thing looks absolutely sick!!!! This black jewel has only one purpose in life that purpose is metal. The massive reverse headstock, slick blacked out design, single EMG-81, and volume control all attribute to this. The mahogany body feels light and may not be desirable for some players. I could care less. The guitar comes equipped with NPS .009 gauge strings and need to be replaced right away with a much heavier set. Why they decided to use such a light string on this machine is beyond me. I have no real concerns with this 7 string and provided weight is not an issue for you, would definitely recommend it.
