OVERVIEW

Seymour Duncan-powered Dinky.

The Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar is powered by a Seymour Duncan JB TB4 humbucker (bridge) and a Seymour Duncan Jazz SH2N humbucker (neck) mounted on a sleek alder body for plenty of warm, chunky tone. The rock maple neck sports a bound compound-radius maple fretboard. A scalloped heel means uninhibited access to the upper frets, while the Floyd Rose-licensed Jackson low-profile double-locking trem gives you the confidence to dip for the low notes.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut (12") for easy chording and flattens out (16") as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

I picked A DK2M up as an afterthought. The price was right, so into the collection it went. The pickups are definitely on the mild side, but I don't consider this a flaw, it's simply voiced differently, and I've left them in. The only thing I replaced was the bridge, I added a genuine Floyd to it, which smothed the pitch return out quite nicely. Peerless guitar for the money!

Amazing for the price (depending on the paint)

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

So i just got this guitar a few days ago and i love it. the floyd stays in tune amazingly for not being a true floyd. the neck and fretboard feel awesome when playing. to me its different from rosewood/ebony fretboards, but it feels right. The pickups are fairly good, im planning on an EMG switch sometime soon though. (im just an EMG guy is all. seymours arent my thing) I got the Eerie dess swirl. but if you dont want to spend extra on the paint either get a simpler color or go to ebay and get the Eerie dess for the same price as the base colors (thats what i did)if you are looking to play any type of metal or even jazz/clean sounding music, get this guitar. it wont dissapoint.

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

i bought this guitar to do one thing, metal. not only has it done that but as i played it more i found it was good for every thing. the bridge pickup can match an emg 81 easily for metal, but is also amazing for blues and classic rock. the neck pickup gives me the best clean sound i have ever heard in my life. this guitar excels at everything and is the best guitar i have ever owned.

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

After playing my friends DK2, I instantly fell in love with the Jackson guitars. Originally I went to the music store to get a DK2, but lo and behold I found this beauty hanging used on the wall marked as a DK2. I asked the attendant if the previous owner had dropped seymour duncans in a DK2, and the attendant had absolutely no idea what this guitar was. It was priced as a used DK2, so i scooped it up right away. They only made these for about 4 years, but I assume they made a ton of them, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one. The guitar sounds absolutely incredible. The Jackson brand is marked for metal, but in all honesty you can play anything on this guitar. I play through a combo stack (a fender frontman combo on top of a fender 2x12 cabinet), and this thing will melt faces all the way to the back row. The neck is lightning fast, and the fret inlays are pretty bad***. Don't be put off by the licensed Floyd, I had to use the fine tuners once and it has not slipped out of tune since. The tone you get from this guitar is flawless. Basically, for the price, it is a peerless axe. If you find one of these and the price is right, don't let it get away.

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

This DK2M is awsome, i got the white model,it looks great.after many years away from jackson i have returned with this guitar.i have been playing a les paul for the past few years so the compound neck takes a bit of getting used to but thats me not the guitar.i had my tech set it up and it plays like butter, nice harmonics and sustain.i am going to replace the bridge jb with a duncan distortion just for a little more gain ect, once again thats my personal taste there is nothing wrong with the jb it is fantastic.the japanese made jacksons are incredible if it was any other brand it would be a lot more expensive, the compound neck alone is usually found on top end guitars.for the price i would say go and try one and i bet you will buy it.

Nice axe for the money

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a very good buy for the money. I bought mine on a closeout of last year's model, and it was a great buy. However, the guitar is well worth retail price, with excellent pickups, a phenomenal neck, and a really nice licensed Floyd Rose system. Once it's broken in, the guitar stays in tune nicely, even after sitting cased for a few days and some wild weather swings. It has a sound that is better or equal to much more expensive guitars out there. I knocked it a little bit on the quality because, as noted, sometimes the whammy bar will unscrew itself, and not stay in a fixed position. I'd love to see a coil tap as well, but that doesn't detract much from the guitar's overall excellence. It's hard to buy a plain stratocaster when there's something like this out there.

A dream come true!!

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

The Jackson DK2M Dinky guitar is the best floyd-rose style guitar I've ever owned or played on. It plays insanely smoothly, and stays in tune flawlessly (I just got done jamming to the live version of Bon Jovi's "In And Out of Love", in which I use a LOT of whammy bar, and had no tuning issues after). My only complaint is the lack of a coil tap for the bridge pup. Also, I play alot of metal, and the Seymour Duncan pups (particularly the JB) aren't quite hot enough for me. I was able to coax a decent metal tone out of the guitar, but had to push my Pod XT Live effects unit very hard to achieve it. So, I plan on dropping a SD SH-6 or SH-8 pup in the bridge and keeping the SH-2N jazz in the neck for some versatility (the cleans on the SH-2N are amazing). That'll make this the ultimate shred machine! Pick one up now--you will NOT regret it.

This Jackson Rocks...

By Briangarret65

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

I have been playing guitar since 1979 and have found this Jackson to be the best quality guitar I have ever owned for the price. Get it set up - and you will not believe how great it plays and sounds. Major tone resonating from this instrument.A guitar equal to this one would cost over 1K easily. I have played and owned many high end guitars. This one's a keeper. Sounds great with the seymour duncan pickups and floyd rose trem. The maple neck is sweet. This guitar roars on my 1/2 stack. If you don't have the bucks and want a sweet guitar, purchase this one and you won't have any regrets.

This guitar...

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

Is AMAZING! I play through a Roland Cube 30X. I might be a little biased as my last guitar was some $300 Samick, but that doesn't take away from the quality of this guitar! I bought mine used off of Ebay, stock parts, and no flaws. I can definitely say that I would have paid the full price for this guitar. The Floyd Rose on it, while not an Original, stays in tune through all my abuse. The Snow White color really compliments the neck and black hardware, it oozes sexy. The maple neck is sleek, sexy, and plays fast! The contour at the back makes it scarily easy to reach those higher frets. The Seymour Duncans allow for an amazingly diverse sound, and pack quite a punch. All in all, there is not a guitar I could recommend more. You are doing yourself an injustice by not purchasing this guitar!

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar. I bought it last August and it's incredible. The Seymour Duncans are awesome, and the Floyd always stays in tune. It has an amazingly smooth neck, isn't too heavy, and has great looks. I got it in white and it looks really cool with the maple neck. I gave it a 2 for value because of the recent price increase, but apart from that it's really awesome.

Ask me a question

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

Yep. I can't find a flaw with this piece. The pickups are hot, the fretboard ultra-responsive.It's also quite a looker. Let me restate: the pickups are awesome. Very natural, yet aggressive. Stays in tune, even if you thrash it and do dive bombs. Never had a problem with breaking strings. Cool shark inlays, sharp maple neck....I really can't find a flaw and I've owned it for 3 years so far.

Great

By RileyC

Comments about Jackson DK2M Dinky Electric Guitar:

Wow, this guitar is great. I went to a local music store and got this same axe in a transparent black finish. I love it. It is worth the buy. The only thing i can see wrong is the nut that holds the tremolo bar on the bridge comes loose sometimes, but its not a problem. Also, if you like to change tunings, look out beacuse it has a locking trem system. I keep it in standard so its fine. The pickups are also good. The sustain is good, adn apperently perform better than emg hzs. Its not too heavy, though I have a Gibson Les Paul studio so most guitars are light. I really like the strap buttons. Theyre larger so im not as worried about the strap popping off. money, I would definately recommend this axe!
