Classic styling with reverse pointy headstock and EMG TurboCharger!
The TurboCharger is an active 0-20dB gain boost that can send your preamp into convulsions in a heartbeat. Sculpted string-through alder body with a carved top and flame maple veneer on the Jackson DKMGT provides great resonance and is easy on the shoulder. 2 EMG HZ humbuckers crank out crunchy rhythms and soaring leads. Bolt-on rock maple neck with bound rosewood fretboard and MOTO piranha inlays.
Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!
- Carved alder body
- Flamed maple veneer
- Rock maple bolt-on neck
- Bound rosewood fretboard
- EMG humbuckers
- EMG TurboCharger gain boost
- 25-1/2" scale

This is an amazing deal. The quality on this guitar is top notch (for the price range). It arrived in perfect condition. The neck joint is nice and tight and the reverse headstock is a nice change. I have two high end Esp LTD model guitars that cost twice as much as this and the quality on this guitar is just as good and the fretwork is actually better. I wish I would have just bought a Jackson in the first place! This price is almost half off what this guitar usually costs. It is not worth it to go for the 2006 model for twice as much just because of the active emgs. These EMG HZ H4 pickups are just a passive version of the EMG 81s. Do not listen to people that say that EMG HZ's are horrible pickups. I dont like them as much as the SD Jazz / JB combo, but they are Great. The design is identical (to emg 81s), the only difference is these don't have the preamp built it (which makes the 81s active). I have a guitar with EMG 81's that I was planning on taking the pickups out of and putting in this. I will NOT be doing that now. There is only a very slight difference in sound between the two. To me this gets rid of some of the "digital" and "sterile" sound that the active EMG's seem to have at times. The blue finish is an awesome color. It looks slightly different than it does in these pictures. The boost DOES work. To the people who say it doesn't you obviously do not know what you're doing. It is quite useful at times and a nice addition. Do NOT pass up on this deal, seriously. BUY THIS NOW. I'm playing this straight into a Traynor YCV50 Blue.

This guitar is not as advertised. It does not have a boost. I have made customer service aware of this issue but to this point they only note a disclaimer at the bottom of page. I only get excuses why it has not been updated. Buyer Beware! Customer service has provided zero help in correcting this issue.

I was a bit squeemish about a mail order guitar, but living in Anchorage, Alaska, the prices here made me go ahead and order one. I've played guitar for a long time and had many different guitars from Fender, to Ibanez, to Chavel, to a custom built Roscoe guitar. This is the best guitar I have ever owned. It's a beautiful guitar and the EMG-HZ's are excellent pickups. To me, Jackson has always been synonymous with heavy guitar sounds, but this one is very versatile. Anything from jazz, to heavy metal sounds great. It stays in tune and plays like a dream. Intonation is perfect directly from the box too. My only recommendation is to replace the .009 strings with a bit heavier guage (just my preference).
I tried this guitar and the DXMGT Dinky (same guitar but with slightly different looks and no gain booster) and they are almost the same without the gain booster on, but when I turned on the gain booster it added some serious distortion BUT, and this is a big "but", there is either a very loud hissing or a loud buzzing sound (depending on the amp). The amps I tried it with were a 65W Crate, a 30W Line 6, a 30W Marshall, and a larger Marshall (forgot the wattage). The guy I talked to at the store said it was probably just too much distortion for the small amps. Thats why I rated the features and quality a 7, it's a good guitar, but not everyone can use it to their full potential. I'll come back to the value, but the overall is 8 because I realy liked the guitar except for the white noise, which might not even bother you, and might not even be a problem if you have a larger amp. Here's why the value is a 1 is because the store I went to had this one for $629.99 and the one without the gain booster (DXMGT Dinky) was $449.99, a $180 difference, and for less than the difference you could get the DXMGT model, with a pretty good distortion or overdrive pedal and it probably won't overload your amp.
this guitar was made for metal music. It's got a fast neck, the body is contoured perfectly, and sits well on your body while standing. I thought for the $ i'd replace the pickups, but they scream! This was a fantastic investment..Jackson really got this one right.
The guitar looks so much differnet then in the picture above, its alot darker and looks alot smoother. Overall looks alot better. The pickups sound good DISTORTED but Arn't the best sounding pickups if you want a full clean sound. The turbo charger is nice and I use it more then I thought I would. I did have to take the guitar into a local music shop to get the action lowered and the pickups placed correctly but after I did that the guitar is awesome. If your into the punk/rock/Metal kind of scene then for the money this guitar is amazing.
I bought a jackson little difernt than the one shown. Mine has differen inlays, soloist head and only volume and tone control. But the hardware, the design is the same. I have line 6 15w amp and it sounds awesome with it. The frets are smooth. Man this guitar is to die for... I mean it is state of the art.... and look the price ... not bad .. i'm sure my jackson will last for years...
This is by far the best guitar purchase I've made. I've wanted a guitar with EMG's for a while. I just got this a week agao and I haven't been able to put it down. I mailnly play rock and metal but experimented a lot with this one on a clean channel it's got great tone. The body is light and easy to play. The Neck has better access to the hight frets then other guitars I own (Peavey, Fender and some others). The pick-up tone is clean with very litlle feedback at high volume (80 watts). Overall this is the Best Guitar I've bought, and at a great price!)
Ive been playing for about 3 years, on a Fender Standard Strat, and I didnt even think of getting a new guitar until I saw this one on this site, on sale so cheap. This guitar is great. The gain booster really makes my soloing stand out. I can get that screaming metal sound I love, or the fat chunky sound of some of these newer bands. I really have nothing bad to say about this guitar, other than Im having trouble finding a case to fit it. Other than that, I could not be happier with it.
i just got it today but from how long i played it i can tell how good it is. its treble boost is cool if ur n a band it helps u to go into a solo with out having to mess with the nobs to get ur volume up. the EMGz r pretty sweet tp they give u a sweet clear metal sound. but i have to say the reverse head stock is my favorite thing about it. if i chould change 1 thing it would be the color.
Even though they're HZ's the pickups on this thing sound HOT, the gainboost supercharger looks cool in writing, but has little effect on the sound, it's like cranking the gain on your amp from a 6 to an 8. This neck is one of the smoothest I've felt, and very comoforatable for lower string sweeping. The body is durable and extremely light, I expected this guitar to weight double my Ibanez s-series, but both fit like a glove over my shoulder, you don't tire from hours of play, aside from the lactic acid buildup in your wrist maybe :P I reccommend this guitar very highly, especially considering the price, MusiciansFriend does it again with their inate wholesale abilities.
I bought this guitar for playing multi-tunings on the fly and as a back-up. Actually I bought it to play "Side of a Bullet", cause the Slipknot tuning is so drastic. Drop C# or something like that. It played great out of the box and still plays perfect.
