OVERVIEW

A more affordable Rhoads model with expanded finish options.

The strikingly designed Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar is built for extreme players. The alder body (with flamed maple top on the transparent finishes) joins up with the maple neck and compound-radius rosewood fretboard. Shredder-friendly features include jumbo frets; a Floyd Rose-licensed, Jackson low-profile, double-locking tremolo; Seymour Duncan JB TB4 (bridge) and Jazz SH2N (neck) humbuckers; and volume/volume/tone with 3-way switching. Black hardware completes the visuals.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better! Includes deluxe Jackson/SKB molded case.

Superb Guitar

By Melanie Sorenson

from Newfolden, Minnesota

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

This is seriously an all-around FANTASTIC guitar. And the price is definately unbeatable. The Seymour Duncan pickups are HOTT and have everything you need for Rock, Heavy Metal, (and when switched to the bridge pickup) some smoking blues as well. Its thin profile neck is also great for shredding or any faster style of playing. And the looks are phenominal. Fantastic instrument.

Its a Jackson and a RR what else should be said

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar now for several years. When I purchased it it did not come with the current pickups, I added the S.D.'s '59 in neck and the Custom in the bridge. It is a wonderful guitar and has been my main guitar for many years now. I have also added heavier and more springs to the Floyd to be able to use heavier gauge strings which I would recommend. I use with overdriven tones and then role off the treble for some great clean tones. The Guitar is very comfortable to play and is not awkward when sitting down. The neck is very inviting.
Jackson has great quality and this is no difference.

Jackson Rhoads RR3 - Awesome guitar!

By Ethan McTavish

from Manitoba, Canada

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

Overall i love this guitar. Looks good, sounds good, plays very nice. Huge variety of tones between the neck and bridge, can also mix the two. It stays in tune and does everything that i need it to. Also i like how it comes with a hardshell case, nice touch!
This guitar has tons of stuff going for it! Love the trem, stays very well in tune i might add. Pickups sound great, this is a very good guitar for metal, however it is also good for a number of other genres from jazz to classic rock. I love the shape, it looks very nice. The only reason it got 9 for features is because it is more difficult to play sitting down, but its fine if you prefer to stand. It has a very good neck on it, nice and slim, very quick.
Quality is great, haven't had it for very long probably like a couple of months but haven't had any problems with it so far, seems very sturdy, made in Japan so it should be pretty good as time passes.
The reason i am impressed with the value of this guitar is because it can handle many different types of music but is best with metal or hard rock. It covers areas where you could easily have to use several different guitars to play, and sounds pretty good for all of these too.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

great for the price, looks good, real easy to play & super light guitar, what I don't like about it, is that the treble pickup pushes way to much bass, the only way to fix this is to change the pickup or raise up the action so you can lift up the pick up doing this does make it harder to play, other then that is a great guitar

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I got my jackson rr3 and was very impressed with the sound. The pickups in it are great and have a good harmonic reasponce they even sound good clean. I didnt like that it doesnt have a set neck or isnt a neck through but the neck makes up for that. With the frets and thin neck this thing was claerly built for speed.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

What can I say? This guitar is amazing; I'm absolutely in love with it. I've had it for about two years now and it's never failed me yet. The Floyd Rose used to give me major problems, but then I learned to how to string up the guitar correctly and all the problems are solved. Also, the pickups sound amazing. You can't get an amazing clean sound out of it, but this is a hard rocking metal guitar. The only consistent problem that I've ever had with this guitar is the output jack wants to mess up sometimes, but other than that, there's nothing bad I can say about it. BUY IT NOW, you will love it.

Wont disappoint

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

this guitar for the money is incredible. although it comes across as a metal style guitar dont be fooled, it is very versatile. These thing is loaded right out of the box. The seymour duncan pickups sound great and the floyd is not bad. It comes amazing stock but i did do a couple upgrades. I added a dimarzio d activator to the bridge and put a original floyd rose on it. This guitar will not disappoint!!!

This guitar is sick! It plays very well, sounds great to! killer looks and every one lets me know much they like it. It stays in tune for days at a time. I abuse the wammy bar and I think it likes it because I havent had trouble with it yet lol I just wish the bridge pick up didnt have a natural distortion. other wise this thing is great!

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I actually got this guitar off of someone on Craigslist last week for $300, and it's in the Crimson Red Swirl. I must say, it's an amazing guitar. When I had gotten it, it had the bridge pickup switched out already with a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker, which I'm switching out for a EMG-81. It's a kickass guitar, def one of my favs. I also own the Schecter Synyster Custom, and it comes very close into tone, but the Synyster Custom does out do it. For the price, this guitar is the way to go. Don't think twice.

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

get this. sure this is a budget Jackson, but this aint no budget guitar. first the neck is amazing it kinda reminds me of a classical neck. the pups are top of the line Duncans. the licensed floyd works great(if you know how to work it) and the sound is heavy and clear. dont look at the price and dont second guess buy this thing!!

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

The lead guitarist in the band I'm in has this fine piece of work. We swapped guitars for a bit, and I played it for about 30 minutes. I fell in love with it. The feel of the neck is amazing, the sound is quite incredible. I'm saving up for it at the moment, but i recommend this guitar to guitarist, beginner or advanced.

AWESOME guitar, exactly what i needed

By SPV2009

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a day now, awesome Pickups, Picks up Harmonics very well, has two volume controls to make it so you can set your Rhythm pickup to higher than the Treble so you can switch to it for a Solo.Very playable neck, I love the compound radius fret board, barre chords are really really easy on this mean guitar, plays metal really well and heavy rock really well also, flat fret board at the bottom and curved at the top.I use this guitar on a VOX VT15, no pedals or anything, Tremolo Is very good, Floating bridge is awesome also, Very useful as I can bend the bridge up or down.Action is rather great, just a tiny bit of Fret Buzz, and that?s only when I strum harder, the Black hardware looks very very nice, the shape is great also, the shorter point on the one side of the V is good, the smaller point would get in the way if it was any longer.

The Jackson RR3!

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about 1 year ago, I got a black one which looks sick to start. The thing I love about this guitar is the sound is perfect for metal and the neck makes it easy to move around fast. The guitar has a great quality tone but the only disadvantage would be the clean tones are a bit rough. Besides that great guitar!

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

i bought the older model of this back in 08 and got it in Crimson Swirl and it looks beautiful. I however found the action to be a little too high so it makes playing power chords a little harder and it takes more to get them to sound great. as of now i have loaded it with 2 EMG pickups the 81 and 60 and im sure it sounds great but im playing though a less than decent Spider III amp so im haven't quite discovered the total awesomeness of these pickups. All in all its a great guitar for the amount you pay for it and i would highly recommend buying one if your interested

Comments about Jackson RR3 Rhoads Electric Guitar:

I went to Guitar Center one day and was playing a MesaBoogie Single Rec with my Hagstrom F-301 and saw a beat up used RR3 sitting over in the corner of the store. I decided to try it out and what a diffrence! It had awesome tone, easy playability, and the Floyd Rose could dive for days. I normally wasn't a fan of RRs because I didn't like the body over the King Vs but I am now saving to get one. I cannot wait to order it. It will deffinatly be my main guitar.
