A more affordable Randy Rhoads model!
The strikingly designed Jackson RR3 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar is a great guitar for its price. Alder body (with flamed maple top on the transparent finishes), maple neck, compound-radius rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets, Floyd Rose-licensed double-locking tremolo, Duncan Designed Detonator humbuckers, volume/volume/tone with 3-way switching, and chrome hardware.
Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!
- Alder body with flamed maple top under transparent finishes
- Bolt-on maple neck
- Compound-radius rosewood fretboard
- Sharkfin inlays
- 25-1/2" scale
- 22 jumbo frets
- 1-11/16" nut width
- Floyd Rose-licensed double-locking tremolo
- Volume, volume, tone, three-way
- Duncan Designed Detonator pickups

Let me begin by saying that I've spent (or should say wasted lot's of money) on other high-end guitar's including a Gibson '57 Goldtop Re-issue (big time piece of ****!). It will be selling on EBAY very soon. This guitar, while being Japanese made, was a much better purchase. The quality of the guitar is excellent. The fret work and action on this guitar is superior to my Gibson (piece of ****!). I've replaced the pickups (DiMarzio PAF Pro and Super Distortion) and replaced the tremolo (Original Floyd Rose). Needless to say, this axe plays and sounds wonderful. Even with these changes (including the case) I've spent about a third what I spent for my Gibson and this guitar plays and sounds much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as patriotic as the next person, however, "Made in the USA" doesn't always mean better, but it always means more expensive. It's a real shame. This guitar is a great bargain!

When I first tried this guitar, I was blown away. As soon as I took it home, however, I was thoroughly dissapointed. I understand that it is a lower end model, but the pickups are HORRIBLE. If I would have known that I would need to spend an additional $200+ on new pickups, I would have never bought it. I am planning on changing them to two EMG 81's, which are of much greater quality. Also, when I took the guitar home, I noticed that one of the screws in the bridge was totally F-ed up, so I'm stuck with a faulty bridge. If I could, I would take back the guitar, but now it seems as if my only choice is to sell it. I could use the $500 for a Peavey 5150 Combo anyways... Basically what I'm saying is, if you can afford it, step up to a better guitar; you wont be sorry.

This guitar is great, period. Except the truss rod is a little crappy that the neck being so thin and fast but this guitar shreds. I highly recommend it because I was blown away at the feel and comfort of it (standing up). Buy this if you can handle it.
One of the coolest guitars i've played. it's light and the duncan designed pickups have a great tone. this guitar is for people who play metal, not the best clean guitar.
I was amazed how well this guitar stays in tune after a scream, the looks are killer, great feel for sitting and standing, and incredibly fast action. I love everything about this guitar, it's worth it.
I am a huge Rhoads fan and I feel that he has the known sound of any guitarist ever.
I recently played this guitar at Guitar Center and I loved it. The neck is really fast and the pickups are pretty good( the distortion can get mixed in, making it hard to hear what your playing). Right now I own a Gibson SG and this guitar is right up there. The Floyd Rose is also a great addition. The only reasons not to get this guitar would be the pickups ( I the seymour duncan jazz and distortion or the EMG ZW set) and the lack of cool paint jobs ( The RR5 pinstripe for instance).
I recently got this guitar for Christmas and love it. It's as fast if not faster than my KH. It's easy toplay sitting down if you are a taller person (6'2") or taller. The pickups are sweet and heavy. The only complaint I have is that there is alot of Hum even when the volume is set at 0. If one pickup is at zero and the other at full, there is a slight hum on the pickups set at zero. I think the plating on the pickguard is creating a short somewhere in the circuitry. Other than that it is a great guitar and I would highly recommend buying one.
This guitar is awesome! It's my favorite over my Les Paul!!! I really actually wish I had the RR1, but when I bought this I was a little low on cash, and couldn't afford the other guitar. Anyway, this guitar is my main axe, and I'm glad to own it. Definitely get the case if you get the guitar! Must buy! Great guitar, from a great company!!
Pickups could be better, and a neck-through body construction isn't available - Floyd Rose is licensed. It has everything, but it's only a shadow of what is supposed to be. Close to the ESP, Maverick, Dean - as it can be for that price.
I got mine used, and it's a strange one with a reverse headstock. It's currently my favorite guitar, and it plays wonderfully. The floyd-rose stays in tune just fine, the guitar doesn't sound like the holy grail or anything, but it sounds good, and it's a great guitar for the money. If Randy Rhoads designed it, it's gotta be the greatest metal guitar of all!!! /m/
K Honestly ne of they Ne-Sayers are either deaf or just plain stupid. The Floyd Rose is amaing and keeps the minimal amount of detuning possible by a tremlo. it looks awesome but the paint does chip easily. I replaced the pickups on mine with an EMG 60 at the Neck and an 81 at the bridge and it is better than ne guitar I've ever had or seen. Also the Double volume feature is amazing.
