Comments about Jackson SLSXMG Soloist X Series Electric Guitar:
Just got this guitar because I miss a Charvel I had in the 90's.
I am impressed with the workmanship on this guitar. It says made in India on the back. The fit and finish is better than my Epiphone and Ibanez guitars that were in this price range.
Every fret is perfect and the feel of the guitar is awesome. Better than the Ibanez imo, perhaps because it has a slight arch top and the neck a angle.
It has a surprising amount of sustain for a trem guitar. More than my Ibanez.
I am not a big fan of EMG pickups. I prefer a more vintage style pickup. I knew that when I bought it so I can't complain. EMG's are perfect for some players so I really can't deduct points for them. They are okay for some of the music I play.
The over all feel of the guitar is nice and smooth. I'm really digging it. The tone is a bit bright but I like it. I intend on installing a brass block on the Floyd Rose which tends to add more bass and mid range. I like this axe a lot as it is though.
I don't usually give all 5 stars but this axe is an excellent value.

Comments about Jackson SLSXMG Soloist X Series Electric Guitar:
First off, kudos to Musician's Friend !!! This is the second time I bought a guitar sight unseen from them. I will never buy elsewhere. My Jackson SLSXMG came ready to rock. I usually have my tech do a set-up on my guitars but this was delivered with fantastic low action, perfect intonation and even IN TUNE !!! Crazy !!!! I got the blonde and it is even better than the pictures show. I've played a lot of nice guitars in my 46 years(ya, not a youngster) of playing and this guitar impressed me.The Ozzy, ZZ Top, etc. stuff I play sound really nice with the active EMG pups. It has a very nice clean tone as well which really surprised me. Best value Iv'e ever had in music !!!!

Comments about Jackson SLSXMG Soloist X Series Electric Guitar:
When I started looking for a shredder, I wanted somthing like the Charvel model 6 I used to own back in the 80's. This guitar came the closest to that an am very pleased overall. My only problem so far is, like a Fender Stratocaster, the volume knob is too close to the strings. I end up accidenly turning down the volume while playing. To fix this I just take the knob off. It is in a perfect place for people who love to do volume swells but that's not my thing. That aside, I love this guitar and would reccomend it to anyone looking for a guitar like this.

Comments about Jackson SLSXMG Soloist X Series Electric Guitar:
This guitar is unreal!!!!! It looks pretty basic, but has all the features you want.
PROS
I purchased it for the price and because it included the Floyd Rose, EMG 81/85s, and it's single piece construction. The neck is the real beauty though. Super fast, easy fretting, and pinch harmonics come easy. It exceeded my expecatations with how versatile it is. Bought it to play with speed and disotortion, but it holds it's own on the clean channel and playing chord based songs also. It's also a Jackson. Even their entry level guitars are very respectable.
CONS
Not much to complain about. It looks pretty basic. If you pulled the Floyd Rose, EMG pickups, and if it was a bolt on neck, you couldn't tell it apart from an entry level guitar. The finish had one small flaw, but that could have been from the local guitar shop I bought it at.
If you are looking for all the hardware and are not too concerned about the finish, buy this guitar now.

Great guitar for the money! Nothing I would change about it

This is the first review I have ever written. There are plenty of organizations these days that lack a commitment to their customers so I believe that it is important to recognize superior service and quality when you receive it.
This guitar is fantastic for the price. It sounds great, looks great and plays great. I am completely satisfied with the product.
I bought the "snow white" color and there happened to be snow on the ground outside and the guitar is not the same color but who cares? It still looks and plays great. I have a Les Paul and this Jackson is a comparable product for way less money.
I did some research before buying this and had some specific features that I wanted but didn't really expect to find for such a good price. There are two huge selling points that made this purchase a no-brainer for the price, the neck through construction as opposed to a bolt on neck and the Floyd Rose tremolo. If you are looking for great sustain and do considerable lead work this is a great choice.
Comments about Jackson SLSXMG Soloist X Series Electric Guitar:
I give it a 10 because I love the versatility and the tones I get out of this guitar. I play it through Marshall, Fender and Engl tube amps. It sounds as good as my more expensive USA made guitars. My USA Gibsons and Fenders do feel better in your hand. Lets face it USA Fenders and Gibsons are great guitars. But this guitar sounds great at a very reasonable price. It does what you expect a Jackson Soloist to do. It has the lineage and tone. It is a Jackson to the coret. The value is fantastic. The 81/85 EMGs is what makes this guitar stands out. Jackson did a great job.
I bought a snow white guitar from MF used. Looks and play brand new. It is a basic set up. 22 frets, floyd rose, and superb EMG 81/85 pups are the highlights. The EMGs is what makes this baby shine. They are fantastic, the volume and tone controls are sensitive so you can get a lot of different tones from blues to scortching metal. Endless sustain, scortching harmonics and high quality tones any time you want it. The floyd rose is competent. Guitar stays in tune. the rosewood fret board is decent. The snow white color is acceptable. Looks good but not stunning. I have 14 guitars so i got this one, my first Jackson, to try something new. What you get is top draw tones that rival my USA Gibson Les Paul standard or any high quality axe. Bottom line - great tones, great pickups, nice guitar.
Made in India. The guitar is very basic. Seems solid. No issues and none expected. Frets, neck, paint, bridge all flawless.
Great value. For those of you who have heard of Jackson but never played one, I can assure you this things breathse fire. These are smoking guitars. A USA made soloist is a couple grand. This one will give you that soloist sound in a very affordable package. This guitar is well made, plays nice, looks good, not fancy but its tones are top notch. So if you are looking for a work of art, this is not it. If you want a hot axe that is fun to play and sound as good as any guitar out their, this Jackson is a great chioce. I love it! Recommended.
