High-fret cutaway and moderate price combined with genuine Ramirez quality!
Laminated rosewood back and sides give the Jose Ramirez 2E Classical Guitar a professional concert look -- and also help keep the price down. The top is splendidly resonant solid Canadian red cedar. Lush ebony fingerboard and Spanish cedar neck provide great feel and visual elegance. At 52mm at the nut with fairly low action, this Jose Ramirez guitar is extremely playable and one of the best values in either of the Ramirez student lines.

I shopped around for a long time before settling on this model. The overall quality of the instrument makes it a pleasure to play. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who has played for a while and is ready to move up a higher quality instrument.
I have this guitar model for the last 15 years and it has proven to be very solid, with warm sound and nice tone. The bass is not accented as much as other guitars I have played with in the same price range (like Alhambra 11C), which I consider excellent, since it lets the higher tones appear out of the pieces. Although not as bright as a spruce Contreras of somewhat higher value I have played with, this Ramirez is pretty pleasant to the ear. This has proved to be a very sturdy guitar that may not improve much with the years, but it will not lose anything at the same time. And at the current price it is really a great value for the continuing student who wants a very playable instrument with warm romantic sound.
