I own quite a few guitars, including six Martins, and I tend to play this one quite a bit. Being relatively inexpensive, as far as Martins go, this is the guitar I usually take out of the house. It has held up very well over the last couple years. The tone and playability of this 000 is unmistakeably Martin. The neck is very comfortable and the 000 body style fits like a glove. You get this guitar, the only thing you will find difficult is putting it down.Sure, if you have the bucks, you may rather have a 000-28 or something, but for the money, I believe this little guitar is about the best you'll find.

This guitar has one of the worst actions I have ever played. If you are a beginner, your fingers will ache and you will give up guitar if this is your instrument. Go play others in the same price range and don't worry about brand. Get one that doesn't work your fingers to the bone to get a chord. I have played many and started with this one. Almost gave up guitar.

Best Deal On The Planet

After comparing it to the Eric Clapton Signature model back and fourth for about 2 hours I could not find a difference in tone between the two, actually the only difference I found was the $2500 + price difference. So don't let the price fool you.

Class Act is a Mellow Martin

This is the 2nd OOO I've owned. The 1st became a victim of divorce. It sported an Indian Rosewood back and sides. I found this OOO-M and after playing it quietly in the back of my local stringmeister's shop fell in love with the feel, sound and playability of this little beast. The Mahogony back and sides give her a warm timbre with a mellow projection brought to life in the spruce top. The whole range from deep lows to sweet mids and bright trebles seeps from every note of this little guitar. She frets easilly and encourages one to try new things on it to sonically challenge the musical palate you are able to create with this sweet axe. WHen I was ready to leave the store another customer commented on how well I played and sweet and rich the OOO sounded. That was it... I was back in about a half hour with a Taylor and some jack to make the trde complete and this sweet little instrument mine. Martin quality is written all over the OOO-M and when you play it it is extremely evident attention to the instrument went into how it sounds and playes rather than appearance like so many other makers are doing now. I was very pleased as I've had some bad experiences with Martin over the last 15 - 20 years and didn't think I'd ever own another after that. But a Little Martin LXM changed all that and convinced me to look at Martin again like I did back in the 70's. I'm glad I did. Martin is now once again producing, in my opinion, some of if not ,the, finest stringed instruments in the world. You have to shop a little and express yourself through the instrument and remember that unless you have some reason for absolutely, positively having a D-28 or some such, check out some of the less expensive plain Jane Martins like the OOO's and you might just find more than a guitar... a soul mate in music. That's what Martin Guitars are all about.

Fun for the money

By Honeyman-NoMmn

Very good playability with a fine tone... I actually purchased for my wife, however tend to casually gravitate toward the instrument. It's just fun to pick up and play.

Comfort doesn't describe it!

This has been my scratch and dent darling for a year now. The thin body and comfortable neck let me play for hours instead of minutes. It isn't boomy like the dread body's or overpowers your voice. It also stays in tune forever. She's a keeper.

great feel

By blackjeep53

I bought a 000-M from a friend. He didn`t like the high action. I bought it at a great price. After about a hour and a few bucks at a guitar luither. Action was lowered and a new set of strings. I can`t put it down. Great little guitar.

Great guitar for the money

By Ziggy-EzZ9F

I had a chance to play this guitar when I was shopping, but passed on it for a Martin with a rosewood back and sides. It's extremely well made, the 000 body style is very comfortable, but it lacks the punchy bass of the rosewood models. Since tone is very subjective, I can't say the rosewood guitar is better, it just sounds different. Regardless, I did like it a lot, came very close to buying it, and I thought it was a bargain, especially at this price. This model would make an exceptional first guitar, or a great acoustic for someone who plays electric and wants to add an acoustic to their arsenal.

No frills, high playability and sound.

Basic, light-stringed guitar, but well crafted and extremely playable with a crisp sound.

Amazing Guitar

I have been playing guitar for over 33 years and have found this instrument (Martin 000-M ) to be an exquisite example of what a guitar should be. The solid top really resonates boldly, and the neck is quite comfortable. If one finds the action too high, that can be easily remedied be taking it to a qualified luthier. Martin always stands behind their guitars. What a beautiful sounding instrument!

Martin convert...

By ReciprocalHokie

from Chapel Hill, NC

I've played an Ovation for over 20 years; no doubt a solid workhorse with premium sound. But I bought myself this Martin over other more expensive Martins just because I found the sound to be "just right", and it's unexpectedly lightweight which is also a plus. It hangs in my bedroom next to the Ovation and when I clear my throat in the morning, I can hear the Martin "ring" in sympathy (as much as I love my Ovation, she never did this). My only comments are 1) I've had to adjust my style of play to fit the Martin. At first I tended to overplay it and I've found it to have a much lighter touch. Consequently, mistakes are harder to cover up :-P 2) one could find as resonant and playable a guitar at a lower price. Martin's do tend to be overpriced, but I'm one of those guys who likes quality and cache and is willing to pay for it. I'm sold on this guitar.

Great Sound - Great Value

By HatKat

from NJ

I needed a guitar alternative to the booming base sound of my HD-28 (which I love.) The 000M was perfect. Great price, great sound. This guitar is very playable and has the rich resonant Martin sound. The 000 body gives it a bright sound. The base is there, but not overpowering.

Amazing Guitar

This is a great guitar. I own two other acoustics and one electric and this one is definitely my favorite. The action is a little high but Martin's are also designed more towards bluegrass players and most of them like their action a little higher. Not to mention that is easily remedied with a little sandpaper on the bottom of the bridge. You will not regret buying this guitar. It is amazing!

Can't go wrong!

I've had my Martin for over a year now and love it more than ever. The sound just keeps getting better. I play a lot of other much more expensive guitars in the shops that I frequent and go away happy with my OOOM. It is a very comfortable guitar to play. I have given up on Dreads because of shoulder aches by them. The mids and trebles are bright and the bass isn't over powering. A very balanced guitar. It never goes out of tuen and the intonation is right on. Jazz is my main thing so I am up and down the neck playing difficult chords. Not a problem with this guitar. If you are mainly a finger picker the string spacing might be a problem for you. The only thing I've had done to this guitar was lower the action. I've bought and sold alot of guitars but this one is a keeper.

Small Body - Big Sounding - Good Value

By Anonymous

This guitar is smaller than a drednought, but packs a punch! The bass is loud and crisp and the treble strings are bright and clear as well. The finish is very nice and there may not be many special appointments, but this guitar is very clean cut looking and very classic.Sound is very important to me and this guitar sounds wonderful.

No doubt to me that the sound is very sensitive and crisp for this price tag. I am drawn to auditorium styles thinner as well as light weight. I can hardly put this one down, thus is improving my playability. For the price buy it buy it~!

Great

By GuitarGirl430

from Austin, TX

This is NOT simply a beginners' guitar. It is quite suitable for a talented guitarist and is highly playable. I noticed that it was very good at "amplifying" hammerons and pull offs, which is hard to find in acoustics any less expensive than this. I love that the body size is smaller than a dreadnought, much more comfortable for me since I have a smaller frame (as a woman) than the average man. I love this guitar.

Great guitar for the price.

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I purchased my 000M as it supposedly had a "factory flaw" in the finish, which turned out to be a small, slightly more glossed spot, that was around the size of a dime. I have played basically all the other guitars in the price range, going from Seagulls, Guilds, entry level Taylors, and the Martin DX series. None of the above guitars could match the sound of the 000M. I picked it off of the top shelf and played a chord on it and instantly fell in love. The Auditorium body style is very attractive and rather easy to play. the only problem I would have about this guitar is that the action is a little high, but that can be fixed with some minor modifications. I would highly reccomend this guitar.
