I recently purchased this guitar after playing it at a local shop while out killing time on a rainy day. I stumbled acroos this guitar and was amazed at how it sounded, compared to the price. I have a Taylor guitar that I have really liked that is not their top of the line guitar, but played and sounded very nice. This Martin blew it away. I loved the neck (although quite different in construction from any other guitar i have played). I just had to have it. I bought the guitar and have not been disapointed. I love how it plays and sounds. And it sounds very nice on my acoustic amp as well. although it dows not have the cosmetic appearance of other higher end martin and Taylor guitars, It actually sounds better to me than some of the others that i have played. It is a awesome guitar for the price. Thanks to Martin for bringing a quality instrument to us for a resonable price
This is a great guitar for the price. Out of the box, it was strung with Martin 12's, and the action was a bit high. I changed to custom lite Elixir's (11 high e string), and the action was perfect. This guitar is surprisingly lightweight. The feel of the neck is awesome. It always feels smooth, and dry, never sticky, or tacky. It was described as having a description fast neck... That description was quite accurate. As funny as this may sound to some people, If you like the smell of a good solid wood guitar, you'll love this one. My only negative comment is the very light non glossy top finish. I prefer a darker glossy top. That being said, for this price range, this guitar excels in quality, craftsmanship, and playability. I highly recommend it.
