I have owned this guitar for 4 months... and it has not let me down. On planes, cruises, camping... it is built like a tank. The pick up is pretty damn good! My wife was shocked to find out I was playing this instead of my $1,200 accoustic! It could have included a volume control, though. The action is ok... I won't be shreading on this anytime soon! And for all the people who say get a cheap, full sized guitar... try shoving them in the overhead compartment!By the way, I agree with another review... in a pitch, I'm pretty sure it would function very well as a club! A fun, well built guitar! I'm ordering a few saddles to try to lower the action. Nice job, Martin!
The "Backpacker" has no equal. This instrument is for the classiest of guitar enthusiasts and compliments taste and style.
I'm currently in Iraq and my wife sent me this to play while I am deployed. It has worked great for the situation I am in. It is a little ackward to play secondary to the shape so I only play it with the strap on. Martin has done a great job on this travel guitar!
very well constructed, as expected from martin. relativly full sound compared to most travel guitars. sounds great plugged in, though.
