My Wife bought this guitar and an Amp from here for my Birthday because I was deployed. On top of how happy I was to be home, she presented me with this masterpiece. Everything about this guitar is awesome. The crisp sound and the finish is what makes this stand out. I have played several other guitars in my life, but none comes close to the quality, sound and craftsmanship that comes with a Martin.
I'm 57, The Kids are grown The house is paid for. It was time for a good guitar. I use to gig full time but now it's just for me. I wanted all wood construction in an A/E guitar. The DX15E has Martin Quality throughout. It will sustain a Chord for a slow 8 count. It has even and equal tone quaiity on all strings. I record directly into a computer line in and it produces an Acustic sound, through a mixer/preamp for an electric sound. The included hard case is of good quality and that suprised me. I like it and threw the box away tiday.
This is a great guitar for the money. I have owned it for a few months now and am very happy with my purchase. If you can find this guitar at or BELOW this price, don't hesitate. The action was as fine as any guitar out of the box and can be lowered if needed. GREAT TONE, really beautiful sounding unplugged. The electronics are as good as can be found on an American made guitar under $1500. This guitar sounds so good unplugged that it would be impossible to do it justice plugged in. Nonetheless, the electronics sound good, very versatile and smooth sounding, not harsh at all. The case is built to last too. I disagree with another review that says these guitars can't take the abuse of years of heavy use. If you take care of this guitar it will last 20 years or more. Very high quality construction and attention to detail, great craftmanship, MARTIN. I play mine every day and travel with it, holding up wonderfully. The matte finish is nice, very smooth. The finish is prone to collecting oil from the skin of my picking hand, which has resulted in a shiny, glossy patch where the palm of my picking hand rests above the strings. No big deal, I'm sure it would come out with cleaner. The tuning machines are pretty good too.All in all, this is a really good guitar for the money:solid woods, awesome sound, easy to play, American, decent electronics, I do not regret mt purchase one bit!
Just bought this guitar and I'm pleased that I did. It has the sound and the feel of what I have come to expect from a Martin. Even though the pick up was a little of a disappointment I was blown away by the brightness and clarity of the sound. The action is good and the guitar is very light. All of this for an affordable price (by Martin standards). I would recommend it to anyone who cares enough to desire a great sound whether playing straight acoustic or acoustic-electric.
This guitar is worth every penny. One of the most beautiful sounds.
I have a martin d28 but I find myself using the d15 cutaway more. The tone quality is great and its lighter weight makes it easier to handle. On the downside, they have skimped on the ornamentation, The herring bone design around the sound hole is painted on and there is a slight gap where the neck and the body are joined.
I work at a music store and had the opportunity to buy one of several Martin guitars. The tone and functionability of the DC-15E was remarkable. I purchased this guitar over seven years ago and have never grown tired of the way it plays and sounds. By far, I have gotten more than I bargained for in this exceptional instrument.
This is a great guitar, what a lady she is. I was on my way to the gig, and the UPS man drove up. She was right out of the box. I tuned her up, and she played a 2 hour gig w/me. It was like dancing with a new partner, but we figured each other out. This is a great guitar.
I bought the Martin DC15-E a year ago. It is probably some of the best investments in a musical instrument I've ever made. It's quality and beauty all around. It does not have any sophisticated finish of more expensive guitars, no fancy rosette, no abalone bindings, or lacquer layer. But it has the sound, intonation, playability, and craftsmanship of much more guitars. As a matter of fact, it's simplicity and tone is what attracted me to it. The finish has a satin feel to it. The sound was a bit brighter than I expected when I first got it, but it's becoming more warm and full. I always keep it in a hard shell case, when I'm not playing it, and it rarely goes out of tune. Highly recommend it!
besides looking like one the most beatiful guitars i have ever laid eyes on, it also has the best sound i have ever played. i own about six guitars and this one by far gets the most attention
