This Martin DSM has to be one of Martins greatest sounding acoustics for the price! It holds its on with my HD-28, but more than half the price! Its louder also. This guitar has Martins famous X bracing which really lends to its volume,& warm even tones, and great harmonics. This is now my favorite acoustic. I spent months trying out dozens of Taylors & Martins, but this one was THE ONE! Try this one out, if your looking for great tone & easy playing! GREAT GUITAR!!
After testing serveral other brands, this acoustic won me over. Great on the low and high ends. This guitar does fill the room with its warm acoustic sounds. Very light in weight easy to play. The action was a little to high, easy to fix. This is my second Martin guitar, soon I will be looking for my third.
I bought this DSM hoping to get a good sounding guitar that I could take out of the house and not worry to much about, this Guitar exceeds all my expectations, it is the best sounding guitar out of several Higher priced guitars I own.
Have had this guitar since April '07 and could not be happier. Great tone for a Martin under $1000. Clear tones, not too bright, but nice and warm with plenty of bass without sounding muddy. The mahogany back and sides give this guitar it's nice and warm clear acoustic tone with the Sitka spruce top. Be sure to get a humidifying system, though, this is all natural wood. Great tone at a great price!
