The Patriot Limited Electric Guitar has an extra dose of Michael Kelly Magic. It features a figured exotic wood top in distinctive spalted maple. With all of the obvious visual appeal, the Patriot Limited guitar is first and foremost built on sound. The tone screams out in crisp growling heaps - in part thanks to the Rockfield SWC pickups. Constructed with USA magnets and wire commonly found in the best known pickups. You get versatile tone ranging from full and biting twang in split-coil mode to clean gnarly and grungy grind in full humbucker mode. Bboth pickups are also coil tapped. I call this guitar excalibur. I have never played such a versatile guitar. I most certainly did my research before purchasing and this instrument has blown away all of my expectations. Doesn't hurt that it is the mother of all beautiful guitars. Everyone sees this thing and asks, "what kind of guitar is it?" I proudly respond, "Michael Kelly." A little about the sound... the range of this instrument is amazing; deep warm tones and light, bright tones. So many guitars wrapped into one. I have never had any trouble getting the sound I want with ease. Small learning curve with the single coil switches, but with a little research you'll see why it's one of the best features of the guitar. Set neck and through the body bridge create a wonderful sustain that goes on and on. You can feel how sturdy the build is. Mahogany body and ebony fretboard??? Sweet! Oh and the Grover tuners are smooth and keep the guitar in tune. I have played this guitar for 5 years with absolutely no regrets. Now I want the hybrid.

I love this guitar it sounds great play great. The guitar I got had a great Grain pattern. The neck feels great The guitar isn't too heavy. Its great for Metallica, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying. Its just a great Guitar.
I've had this guitar for about 8 months now, and I am blown away by how great it sounds and looks every time I play it. The humbuckers have a crystal clear, clean tone, but when I use my boss effects pedal for some distortion, it sounds even better the rock/metal riffs sound great with the rockfield pickups. The coil split provides an arsenal of sounds. The craft of the instrument is great even though it was build in korea I think. This guitar sounds better than guitars 3 times the price. Buy it, you won't regret it.
I am pretty pleased with this guitar. Mine has a real nice grain pattern, unique "spalted" look with a subtle flame. The extra touches, like the multi-ply binding, abalone inlays and matching grain headstock bring it to a higher level. The guitar is near flawless,(one sharp fret end - no big deal) . Everyone that I show it to is very impressed.I really like the feel of the tapered neck and angled body joint. For small hands, it is easy and fun to play. The pickups are good, though my bridge pickup seems noticeably quieter than the neck pickup. The taps work fine, leaving tons of pickup selection choices (8 in total). The only thing I would change is the knobs, which are a bit bulky and makes the tap selection awkward on the fly.Still, these are minor critcisms. It'a really great guitar overall.
Just received this and it is awesome. Its got some weight to it but its not as heavy as a les paul. The inlays are beautiful and really add character to the guitar. I had been using a strat style guitar and getting used to the single cutaway took a little time but now it seems natural. Its great for Metallica rhythms. Overall this is a great bargain and it has a lot broader range compared to a strat in my opinion.
Fantastic Guitar. Truly best bang for the buck that I've seen so far. Everything in the other reviews is true. It really does exceed Gibsons and Fenders in quality and sound. Mine actually feels heavy but I like that in an LP style guitar. If weight is an issue, you may want to actually pick one up before you order it on line. Definitely my best guitar. The rockfield pickups and more punch and clarity on the low end than my Gib Lp. They split nicely to single coil as well.
This guitar is amazing- especially for the money. I had to see/hear it to believe it, and I couldn't be happier. With the specs and craftsmanship, if you were to put "Gibson" on the headstock, it would be a $2,000 guitar. I've used it for live performances and recording. I wouldn't mind owning another one.
I record and play live often and this guitar hands down is the best ive ever had. Ive played 1000 dollar and above gibsons and they dont even compare. Fenders fall short of it's powerful low tone and crazy highs and the split coils are great. I recomend this guitar for anyone who likes prs schecter ibanez and peavey. You wont regret buying this.
I bought this about 6 months ago. It is the best guitar I own. It has an excellent tone. I'm in a metal band and I've used it for recording. But this thing is so versatile! I can play Metal then go to Jazz or the blues. It was set up perfectly out of the box.And the cutaway is much better than a LP.
Playing one of these for about 2 months now. Love being able to switch from humbuckers to single coil pickups on the fly. Fairly lightweight (weighs less than my Strat), so you can play for a long time without fatigue. As far as tones- some great cleans as well as crushing metal tones. Stays in tune. The fretboard has the playability of a much more costly Gibson. Michael Kelly means quality to me.
