Special bracing and all-mahogany construction pair up with B-band electronics for a guitar that is sure to please.
The Artist Series AG660ESHB is an elegant, cosmetically rich Grand Auditorium guitar with a powerful and open sound. The solid mahogany top with gloss finish helps produce a focused tone making this instrument great for recording and live work. The Shadowburst finish on the 660 is stunning, carefully crafted to produce a mirror deep shine and sophisticated appearance. It is fitted with the SYS250 3-band EQ with notch filter and backlit digital tuner.
Along with a more angled headstock, the AG660ESHB features their bi-level bridge which increases string tension by making the break angle of the strings from the saddle to the top more acute. Improved string tension adds to the sound, feel and response, which are also heightened by the use of a real bone nut and saddle.
After 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes and materials is still at the heart of Alvarez culture. Alvarez guitars are constructed correctly in every sense, from raw material preparation to construction and manufacturing processes. Tonewoods are carefully cured; components such as neck blocks and wood joints are carefully designed. The painting, sanding and polishing techniques used are continually researched and developed, and the tone is impeccably crafted and married to a stable, consistent and lively sound box.

Comments about Alvarez AG660ESHB Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
MF blew this one out the week of 11/13/17 for a ridiculous price that was indecent!. What a score! The pictures don't do it justice as it's every bit as beautiful as a Taylor 300 series. And the tone can actually compete with the Taylor very well. I know because I played everything my local music shop had in the 300 and 500 Taylor series. So quite a deal at 1/10th the price!
But this guitar has an issue and that is a small hump on the bass side where the neck meets the body at the 14th fret. I've chased out all of the fret buzzing I can with truss rod adjustments, but the fret buzz remains on the B-G-D strings on the 12th fret only. Now I'm left with shimming the saddle to increase the action height to get rid of the buzz. And who the he..ck wants to make the action higher? What bums me out is that MF did not hold 1 or two back during the blowout sale just in case there was a defect with any of these guitars. And they are unwilling to make any concessions on a folk size model. So...either I raise the action or just use it in the first position :< (.
But if you can find one that is problem-free, this is a very nice guitar with a rich tone and a very playable neck even at the street price of 1 less than a half thousand.
