Long known as an ideal acoustic guitar for anyone venturing beyond the 5th fret, the Adamas has always offered discerning guitarists even tone from one end of the fretboard to the other. It's a rare offering indeed in the acoustic guitar world, but an absolutely essential property for Kaki King who leaves no fret unplayed.
When properly engineered, carbon fiber, or graphite, behaves very much like wood. The Adamas guitar's top is made of aerospace-grade graphite in long fibers, designed to respond like spruce. At one-third the weight of a spruce top, the Adamas soundboard responds quicker, speaks louder, and vibrates longer.
The guitar's cutaway design, 25-1/4" scale length, and 1-11/16" nut width provide comfort for intricate movements up and down the rosewood fretboard. The walnut bridge adds clarity to the tone, and the 5-piece mahogany/maple neck provides additional strength to this solid and surprisingly lightweight guitar.
At the heart of the Kaki King Adamas guitar is an impressive and intuitive electronics system, that lets you dial in your ideal sound, tune, and amplify quickly and effortlessly. Designed in collaboration with Al DiMeola and Melissa Etheridge, the OP-PRO preamp combines state-of-the-art audio quality with guitarist-friendly features for a preamp that should please even the most discriminating player. It features gain adjuster, tuner, and 3-band EQ. This professional-grade system has been engineered to compliment the unique character of Adamas guitars.
Additional appointments include gold hardware, gold Schaller tuners, a striking 12th fret Kaki King crown inlay, Adamas fan bracing, natural gloss neck finish, and the signature multi-sound hole rosette.
