Using the same unique Ovation Quintad bracing pattern featured on the more expensive Elite models, the Celebrity Deluxe CC48 is an entry-level acoustic-electric guitar that will continue to earn its keep as your playing skills mature.
Multiple soundholes in the upper bout allow for more efficient bracing and tone contouring. This technique has been perfected over the last two decades on guitars ten times as expensive. Now everyone can own one.
Minimal bracing = Maximum Sound
Ovation's unique Quintad bracing pattern allows maximum top vibration while maintaining stability. In conjunction with the roundback body, the Celebrity Deluxe produces a robust sound with plenty of tonal cut.
A bound rosewood fingerboard and a slim 'U' shaped neck make the Celebrity Deluxe one of the easiest-playing guitars in the business. The frets are hand-dressed and the action height is set to "Fast."

I just bought this guitar a few days agoIt takes a little bit getting use to. But over and all it's well worth the investment. The only thing that I will say about it is that the strings are a bit to heavy and there is a buzzing sound that happens on the low E string. But a different set of strings will solve that problem. Over and all it's a perfectly good guitar for the money. You can't go wrong with it.Cheers. :)
I just received this guitar yesterday. It plays beautifully. Unplugged it has a crisp bright sound coming from it. No issues with fret buzz, mine came set up just right. Neck is thin like a strat. The binding and flamed maple are immaculate. This is a guitar that will be in my hands more often than not. It will not collect dust.
The finish on mine is flawless. Sounds good out of the box. This guitar calls out from the corner of the room to be played. Really appreciate this guitar's slim profile and lighter weight.
I've been playing for over 30 years and have owned several USA Ovations inc vintage and Collectors. This one for the money wins hands down. I bought it to do open mic/gigging because I didn't like to take my Martin. I opened the box and couldn't believe my eyes. It's beautiful, flawless construcion, played great right out of the box too. Tuner works great. Stays in tune and plugged in it sounds amazing. My Martin sits in it's case and I now only play my "cheapo" Ovation
I have wanted an Ovation for several years, and wasted no time buying this one when I saw it here back in March. I have been playing guitar, mostly my 12-string Alvarez, for about 28 years, and couldn't pass up this incredible deal. After two months, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I read all the reviews before buying, as well as the more recent ones since getting the guitar. For those who say they are unhappy with the quality, finish, sound, electronics, etc., all I can say is "sorry for your luck!" Right out of the box my Ovation was incredible. At first sight, all I could say was "wow." I thought it should be hanging on a wall because of the beautiful workmanship. The finish on mine is flawless. The sound is great unplugged, and absolutely awesome plugged in. The tuner works great and the guitar stays in tune just fine.I do plan to change out the strings for a lighter gauge because of an annoying fret buzz on the low "E" string at times. But that's certainly no reason to send this guitar back.I would recommend it to anyone who has thought of getting an Ovation. For the money, this one can't be beat. Thanks for a beautiful guitar! Now I've got my eye on an awesome acoustic bass to round out my collection.
I bought this guitar the last time it was on special. The finish is great, the fretboard could have used a little more finish, it looked like maybe they were in a hurry whoever slapped the stain on it but it is still very nice for the money. I have an older celebrity which has fatter frets which makes for less effort on the action, the frets are ok i wish they were a little bigger. Plugged and unplegged it has a very nice sound. The instrument looks very nice if you dont look close at the laquer overlap on the fretboard from the paintbrush but other than that part looking like someone was behind on the production line it is an awesome instrument. Actually the body has very nice coat on it, I have strummed a lot with it and it doesnt really scratch. I would reccoment it to a friend. The bodys color actually looks much better in person than looking at it on the screen. Happy Trails!
When I opened the box and looked it over I thought WOW, what a gorgeous instrument. I tuned it, love the tuner, and began to play. Right off the bat, the low e had a nasty fret buzz, the strings provided are too heavy and hard to play, this can be easily rectified, I left it alone overnight and decided to have at it again, it was so far out of tune that I have to tune it each time I play it. Electronically, I prefer my 057, I think it sounds richer and plays a whole lot better. Aesthetically it is second to no other guitar in its class, but poor workmanship, and a hastily contrived entry level celebrity means to me you get a good one or you don't. It is a crap shoot. Mine is on the truck back to where it came from.
Most of the CC's have laminated Spruce tops but this one has a flame maple solid top. The maple gives it a nice warm tone that I found very pleasing that actually seems to soften the traditional Ovation sound just a touch, but it still sounds like an Ovation.I took it right out of the box, unwrapped the battery, tuned it up, and played for the next 5 hours straight. This Guitar is CLEAN. The action is nice an low and FAST compared with my Epiphone, the sound is outstanding, even unplugged, and the finish is beautiful. It's a joy to play, easily outperforming some more expensive guitars that I've played.I only gave it a 4.5 simply because the preamp on the more expensive Ovations are of a better quality. This is without a doubt the best $300 bucks I've spent in a long time.
I just bought the Ovation Celebrity Deluxe CC48 guitar and all I can say is WOW!!!! It looks just as good if not better than online. It plays and sounds like a dream. The only problem I can find is it's hard to adjust the tension rod through the back access panel, if you have a meaty arm like me it's impossible. So I have to take it to my local Guitar Tech to have a minor set-up done. Other than that it is a well made guitar that will please even the most demanding person like myself.
Guitar was ready to go with a quick tune up which I did with the handy built in tuner, and has stayed in tune fairly well very easy to play and the finish is beautiful. Since it's a shallow bowl, the sound is not as loud as with a bigger guitar but plugged in its pretty sweet. This guitar is definately worth the money.
