This is my 4th CE...having lost the other autographed ones to an ex fiancee. The CE24 is great for all around playing...it is not a Gibson sound, or a Fender sound..which is great. It gives me my own sound that is in familiar territory, without being a clone of already famous tones. I used Jackson Phil Collens and teles before this, and I actually sold the Jacksons. The trem is gorgeous, the 5 way roto switch is brilliant. The neck is worn great and smooth, and ten I find out mine is a special finish unreleased on any other PRS...way cool. I ave a relationship with PRS since my Line6 days, where i was a clinician, and customer support is superb. I could not reccommend a better guitar for live or studio work. Period. Thanks Paul...for ruining my love affair with Jackson. Also, check out the Soapbar models, including the SE...I just bought one for the P 90's...I am now a PRS user! Ok I still have a tele, just cause there is a cool vibe to owning a tele...but the PRS can chicken pick too...now if I can find a Custom Soapbar 22, life would be complete...ALSO....be sure to check out all the SE stuff....the SE Custom is a beast in it's own right!

This is simply an amazing guitar. I don't really use the 24 frets, but it gives you a lot more room at the top. The sound with the 5 way selector goes from Les paul to Fender strat. It has a nice bright sound with the HFS and vintage pickups. The tone control reduces the treble without the sound getting muddy. I found the tuners with the CE slipped out of tune without me using the whammy bar. But all told, the best guitar I ever owned.

My favorite

By Cawaynus

from Central Texas

I play mostly classic country, classic rock, and some gospel, at local civic centers, ranches, restaurants, etc. I play lead and rythym, and although I have several good guitars, including a Tele American Deluxe, American Standard Strat, and others, I always play my PRS. It is so much more comfortable, fast, and playable. I regularly use my tremolo, it stays in tune exceptionally well, and just plain fits my playing style. Resting my hand on the tele bridge becomes uncomfortable after a few hours of playing, and does not have the tremolo. I have recently changed to the Egnater Tweeter combo amp, which is all I need where I play, and the combination of that amp and my PRS produces an infinite range of sounds. I can get the exact sound I am looking for, and regularly get compliments on this combination by other musicians. I have always loved my PRS, and it's even better with the recent change to the Egnater amp.

Review

This was an insurance replacement for my Gibson RD77 Artist. The factory setup left a lot to be desired and cost a far amount to correct. The tone is very mid-rangy and honky. The ouput of the pickups are not equal from humbucker to single coil. If you are going to spend this kind of money get a Gibson or Fender.

I bought one about a month ago

great playing guitar, bridge pickup sounds awesome , neck pickup sounds good but sounds a little thin (maybe because of the maple neck) killer action, don't care for the rotary switch but that is easily replaceable. I have 15 guitars, and I would have to say overall that this is my favorite. If only they made one with a floyd rose!

Pricey but worth it

I own a Custom 24, and I honestly am not a big fan of archtop guitars. But I am a fan of PRS. A friend got me this guitar as a wedding present, and right after I played it for the first time through my Marshall Vintage Modern, I knew it could do me no wrong. Just like any other PRS, it sings and gives you tone that is amazing. It is by far the most versatile guitar I have ever played to date. PRS forever

This guitar will make you famous

By dynamite slick

The density of the maple body makes for great resonance. My model has the hfs pickups as opposed to the dragons, it gives more of a metal edge. This guitar will make you want to play more. The design and aesthetic looks of PRS are unbeatable. From heavy to clean, low end tuning, everything. My PRS has definitely made me a better player. The jumbo frets make for great chord changing, and the neck plays really fast. This guitar has also furthered my personal style. I think I will only play PRS's for a long time. Also because they are American made, they will lose value in the short run, but after 10-15 years, the wood will change characteristics, ultimately making it sound better, thus increasing its value. Investment guitar. You can go on you tube and look up PRS factory tours and interviews with Paul himself. Bottom line: buy this instrument.

Great Guitar

By Anonymous

It's a great guitar if you're looking for versatility. You cannot quite reach deep enough into strat territory for my tastes, but still can get pretty close. The neck pickup is buttery smooth, though almost too smooth at times. The bridge pickup is smoking, and you can get anywhere from that great American Rock tone even into Metal if you have the right gear. Watch the finish on this guitar, even though it looks great, it is VERY thin.

CANT BEAT THIS!

By JASPERGUITARGUY

from Redlands, CA

This guitar is by far the best one that i own. I have 7 guitars, including: 2 ltd, 2epiphones,1 daisy rock, 1 Jackson, and this bad boy. The sustain on this guitar is perfect, the neck is perfect, the pickups are amazing and i would never replace them, stayes in tune, and the color is amazing. Mine is a limited edition 20th aniversaty model in vintage yellow (no longer available to this model). This guitar is well worth it believe me.

The BEST guitar EVER!!!

By Axegrinder

from Undisclosed

I waited almost 9 months for this custom made CE 24, and was well worth the wait. The action is AMAZING, and you get so many sounds due to the 5 way rotary. I play metal, so I need a trem that will stay in tune. The PRS tremelo is the best made! The strings lock only at the tuners, yet you can't get this guitar to go out of tune if you wanted to. Sting changes only take a few minutes for all 6 strings. The finish is awesome!!! A hand crafted work of art!!!!!!!! I WILL get another one.

ABSOLUTE SWEETNESS

By AAA-lo4kA

from Ottawa, On

I own the PRS-CE3 which is the exact same guitar as the CE-24, their only difference is that the CE-3 was made by the original PRS team. but anyway, I just really, really recommend this guitar to anyone who has an interest in absolute sweetness. This guitar has so much character it is perfect for any style of music. Also, it has to be the easiest guitar to play, no joke.
