First off I am not their target customer for this guitar, but I love it. It is put together well and looks amazing. I play mostly in my church praise band and I get comments about how beautiful the guitar is every Sunday. I have the emerald green. My wife surprised me on Christmas with this excellent guitar. I had played the older one and found it to be heavy, this one seems lighter. Now to the flexibility of how it plays. This is my first guitar with jumbo frets so that took a few days to get used to but now I can't stand to play my others without them. The dual humbuckers have also have a push pull pot to make them a single coil. So you have endless flexibility for tone. Overall I am very happy with this guitar.

I recieved this guitar last week. It was beautiful. The red burst was a deep shade that doesn't show on the website. My band plays 90's rock and I was looking a backup guitar to my 1980 Les Paul and my Explorer which had a different sound and feel. For the money the guitar was built well, the inlays were smooth and the neck played well. The downfall of this guitar for me were the pickups. They were flat and soulless in all settings. I really looked forward to the coil tap feature but these pickups just died in the single coil mode. I almost kept the guitar and upgraded the pickups because it played well but it seemed like a lot of work for a new guitar. Musicians Friend was great about the return.

Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
I bought this item used but when I got it, it looked brand new! Even polished and in tune! Very happy with my purchase.
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
I have owned many guitars starting with some junk but have had a Deluxe Fender Strat, esp ltd m100fm, esp m-1000, and an ibanez universe. All but the low model esp i payed more for than the paul allender and this is easily the most valuable guitar i now own. If you are thinking about buying this guitar do so immediately, you will absolutely not regret it. It will blow your mind coming stock out of the box. I don't forsee any problems down the road with this guitar and I have three years of coverage through prs anyways. Great guitar, great price.
I just purchased the PRS se Paul Allender last week. It's the red model stocked with nickel hardwarde, prs tremolo, ebony fretboard/jumbo frets, wicket bat style inlays, active emg 81/89 combo, and a beautful flamed maple top. Hardware is basic prs brand but work effectively, a string through tremolo like the fender style which makes for easy stringing tuning. The active emgs compliment the "metal" insipiration for this guitar. Plug it in a decent tube amp and this thing SCREAMS, and the ebony fretboard is very fast and smooth. This guitar has pretty much all the features you could ask for on a quality guitar and at an incredibly affordable price. Also remember you are paying for the quality of a PRS which now has my full appreciation. Only reason it's not a 10 is locking tuners would have been a great addition, but a fair enough price to get on your own.
As mentioned above every PRS i have played has completely blown me away as far as quality. I have had numerous problems with other brands with pickup issues, grounding issues, crappy tuners, and flaws in the finish. Every inlay is very detailed and set perfectly in the neck, like they aren't even there. Pickups sound great, tuners and bridge work as they should. And i can't find a single flaw in the finish, just a very beautiful guitar. I tune a full step down in my band to D so when i got it I immediately brought it home and re-strung it, tuned it. Very easy to work with as opposed to other trem systems. tweak a couple of screws for intonation and a very VERY minor adjustment to the neck and it's ready to shred, insanely low action if you want and no buzzing.
I got it for such a low price, it almost felt like i was stealing. You will not find a guitar that can even compare to the overall features this has for that price. This guitar really does play worth twice the money you will pay. A great deal for someone looking for a sturdy good looking guitar they want to use for a long while.
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
Looks, comfort, sound all the PRS quality. This has become my favorite guitar to play!
The nut is a little wider than most making extra room for my fingers - very nice!
The oversize frets also have a nice feel and make it easy to feel my way up and down the fretboard.
Humbuchers and single coil capable with a pull of the knobs - nice.
Tone is great.
Set up perfect. Action is quick and comfortable.
On sale - I haven't played anything else that fit me better.
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
This is my firt PRS and even though it is an SE, I would buy another one and am in the market for another one. I have 7 other guitars, Epiphone, Ibanez, Fender, and I chose this guitar every time.
Great finish, always wonderful to look at. The gold finish is fading off of the tuners, that is why I scored this an 8. Pickups are great, tone is great, selecter switch is uncumbersome.
Gold finish is tarnished
I have the older version of the guitar. I am not the profile player for this guitar, but I can tell you that I have given up playing my Deluxe American Strat for this guitar. I am a HUGE Iron Maiden fan and I can tell you that the action lets me glide effortlessly over the fretboard.

Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
initially i was not looking to get this at all, however i had one prs se that i loved and this baby had emg's and a pretty nice finish and it was 24 frets so why not? I was misled by the salesman who told me it had an emg 81 in the bridge and an 89 in the neck. A brutally awesome metal combo. So i was hooked and took it home. This is where the fun began. I was a little upset to find out it had a 90 in the bridge and an 81tw in the neck but whatever. The coil taps don't do a whole lot but drop the volume and make it sound a little thinner overall, but i didn't get this guitar for that. I'm not a paul allender fan pe se either. Why get this guitar then? Because its a 24 fret - beautifully finished - extremely playable monster. the emg's are bright and give out alot more output (as expected) than the stock prs pu's, it plays nice, it feels nice and overall for the money you really cannot be the quality. I dinged it on value because i wish it had locking tuners but everything else is great. If you want a metal guitar get this. The prs se's even as an import still feel, play and are a higher quality than most other guitars under 1500.00, easy. Don't get me wrong, its not just a metal guitar, tonally it can achieve alot of different styles, but when a guitar looks like this you know it wasn't made for texas blues or country. Also as a general rule always do your homework, the one time i didn't lucked out, GC really lost my faith and future sales (due to general lack of knowledge not just on this product)
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
I just got this 1st edition Allender, the purple one with passive pickups and it's a great guitar ! Last owner put gold locking Grovers on it. I love the neck joint feel and the only problem I have with the whole guitar is the position of the selector switch. A little far to reach but all the other goods bypass that 1 bad. Got mine for $400 so if you can score a deal like that, GO FOR IT ! You won't be disappointed I promise ! I have a buddy in a popular touring band whos sponsered by PRS and mine is very close to his signature model without breaking the bank. GET ONE !
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
this guitar has been changed since I bought it... it now comes in red and green instead of purple and green... I have the original and this version and they both sound great.. the feel and sound of this guitar is amazing just wonderful if you're planning on using the trem arm PLEASE invest in the PRS or any locking tuning pegs because you WILL NEED THEM.. only drawback which is why I gave quality a 4 instead of 5 :-D
Comments about PRS SE Paul Allender Electric Guitar:
My son surprised me yesterday with a PRS, SE Paul Allender guitar that Paul himself used in his apartment. I own and play a Strat Plus from the late 80's. The Allender model just blew me away! The 24 frets are super clean and extremely easy to make them ring. Clean "bending" is actually easier on this model than my Strat. This guitar plays very cleanly (a bit of a surprise). Super easy to change pickup modes while playing. Bat inlays are "sweet!" Even though I got this model free, the Musician's Friend price makes the Allender model a fabulous deal! Thank you Paul Allender, PRS, you just opened up a new world for me!
