This is the first guitar I've purchased, and it is a great guitar for the price! I'm a beginner teaching myself to play, and this works great for what I need it for! I enjoy playing it, and practicing new chords. The built in tuner is awesome, and the main reason why I wanted an electric acoustic. I can't say too much for the pickups because I haven't yet plugged it in to an amp, but as an acoustic, it's great. A few notes I have on it are:
1. The strings that came on the guitar weren't too great. They stretched a lot and it needed tuned pretty regularly. I have since replaced the strings with some Elixr strings, and it almost never comes untuned. A set of strings would be a worthwhile addition to this purchase.
2. I didn't know enough about maintaining acoustic guitars when I bought mine. I purchased my guitar in the middle of a very cold winter, and put it into my heated house. This caused the neck to dry out, and the frets poked out and were pretty sharp. I had to file them down to comfortably play. I would suggest a humidifier for the guitar in dry conditions.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. The quality was overall great for the price.

This guitar worked perfectly right out of the box. It stays very close to in-tune but I have several more expensive guitars that don't stay in perfect tune either. The on-board tuner makes it a breeze to tune up anyway. The pickup on this guitar works perfectly. I bought this same model guitar several years ago and the saddle pickup was not mounted well and did not accurately pick up all the strings. It also did not have a tuner. I loaned the guitar to a relative who dropped it and the head broke off the neck whch made the guitar totally worthless. The new guitar is made from inferior wood (not sure what kind) and I'm sure it I drop it on a hard surface it might break too. (The new one has a steel reinforced neck and I don't remember if the orgianal did or not.) All this being said there was always something about that guitar that I really loved and I was very sorry when it broke. The guitar I have now worked great immediately. This guitar looks a little different than the original model so maybe it is made better too. I hope so but only time will tell. I like the cut out which make playing lead and chords up the neck much easier. I didn't replace my original guitar right away because shortly after I bought it the price went up by about half. As soon as I saw it on sale for the price of the first one I ordered it. I have five accoustic guitars now but for some reason I enjoy playing this one more than the others. It has all of the features of my other guitars in one guitar. If this one breaks I probably would buy a more expensive guitar with the same features.

Comments about Rogue RA-090 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The size and quality of these are really very good. I have now purchased 2 of these guitars. On guitars of this nature, some "tweeking has to be done. Since this guitar was probably built in a high speed production situation, I had to sand and smooth the fret edges on the necks of both guitars and also raise the bridges a little with small aluminum strips because of a small amount of "fret buzz".... Also, the "piezo" pickup did not work properly so installed a "humbucker" magnetic pickups.... and boy did that work. Hey, what do you want for the price. Works fabulously well.... Tuner works great too....

Comments about Rogue RA-090 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this for my 7th grade daughter. She's a beginner. Didn't want to spend too much money on a guitar to see her lose interest. This is a great beginner's guitar. I love the ability to tune the guitar with the built in electronics. I did need to restring it properly, as the bridge pegs that hold the strings in place were not properly set and the strings it came with were pretty poor quality. My 9th grade son who has been playing for a few years also wants a new guitar. I wouldn't buy this one for him. I will spend more for a guitar with better action and sound. So if you just want to see if you'd like to play guitar, this one is for you!

Bought this to have something I can use for weird tunings and practice slide without constantly messing with my "good" guitars. This one sounds pretty darn good for as cheap as it is. It looks fantastic for as cheap as it is. It doesn't play so great but please keep in mind that I'm spoiled and have some very expensive and amazing guitars. That being said, this is exactly what I needed for my "slide experiment on a budget".
