      Extremely Versatile

      By Griffin

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 Tempest Standard Electric Guitar:

I needed a guitar that could do anything, and this can. Classic rock, high gain metal, blues, jazz. It's not specially geared towards any of those, so if you're looking to just play one style, you may want something else. It's a little on the heavy side (which I prefer). Nice thick, arched body like a les paul, but two cutaways too! Very good accessibility; only a strat-type body would be more efficient. The neck feel is a little on the chunky side, which I like too. I would definitely pick this over the Tempest Custom -- the only permanent difference between the two is the fretboard wood -- everything else can be modified fairly easily if you feel like it. Great guitar, I think.
Really good stuff -- professional hardware (grover tuners, tusq and tonepros setup) Might have been nice to have separate coil splits for each pickup, but I'm not complaining. Also, it has a 24.75" scale, which is a little short for me, but easy to get used to.
This guitar feels like it will last a long time. The binding wasn't perfect when I got it out of the box, but nothing you would notice from two feet away. Good solid build, I like it.
Fair price. It feels like an investment, which I think a good guitar should.

      Great Value

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 Tempest Standard Electric Guitar:

I got the black finish on sale for 400 bucks! I guarantee there is no guitar for 400 that is as good a value as this. The finish actually looks really nice in person, the action was perfect out of the box, and the intonation is the best of any guitar I have owned. The biggest standout to me on this guitar, though, is how versatile the sound is. The pickups are not perfect, but there are a lot of different sounds you can get out of them, from warm and smooth jazzy tones to punchy crisp tones. Plain and simple, I love it and I can't wait to update the p/u's to the SD hotrodded set. All my friends are envious and now suddenly are interested in Schecter guitars :)

      Great Value

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 Tempest Standard Electric Guitar:

Great guitar for the money. I was impressed with this guitar from day one. Good quality, well built, even the factory set up was great. I leave this guitar out for friends to plink on, and everyone has enjoyed it. Dual hums with coil splitting means you can find the tone that is right for almost any situation. Although it is not a perfect guitar, it can hold it own against others that are more than twice the price. Don't make it your primary studio or gig guitar, it isn't on par with other high dollar units. But bang for the buck, it is one of the best I have found after many years of playing. Great tonal rangeGreat feelWell builtVersatile

      Outstanding!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 Tempest Standard Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar in fall of 2007. Went into the shop looking for a versatile guitar and went to the big names first. The salesman said if I want quality and value then I should look no further than Schecter. Skeptical at first, I tried the Tempest. I was blown away. The tone, the aesthetics, the build quality, etc. all made the price unbelievable. I took it home that day and she's been treating me well ever since. Schecter is, as the salesman said, excellent quality and value! Look no further! I know I'll be buying more Schecter guitars in years to come. Buy it, you wont be disappointed! I promise!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research 2011 Tempest Standard Electric Guitar:

I played this at a Guitar Center and it sounded amazing no matter what amp I used or what style music I played. It is way more impressive than my Gibson Les Paul for less than half the price. It was lightweight easy to reach every fret it was balanced it is the perfect guitar definitely recommend. Great job Schecter!
