With an arched mahogany 7-string-through body and 3-piece mahogany set neck with Schecter's Ultra Access heel contour, the BlackJack C-7 is so comfortable to play, it almost becomes an extension of your body.

The Schecter BlackJack ATX C-7 electric guitar features Seymour Duncan active Blackouts humbuckers. These are 9-volt pickups designed for aggressive playing styles; especially good for old school metal, garage, punk, thrash, drop tunings, and other heavy rock styles. The Blackouts' balanced inputs capture the tone that guitarists want in an active design, providing more lows, more highs, more tone — period.

The ebony fingerboard features an Active Bolt inlay at the 12th fret, like a warning label for just how much power your axe is packing. Grover tuners, a TonePros TOM bridge and a GraphTech lubricating nut keep you in tune and maximize sustain. Aged mulitply binding is an excellent frame for the high-class aged finish.

    Schecter Perfection

    By Michael Vonderohe

    from Chicago, IL

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

Shecter Blackjack ATX C-7 is an excellent instrument. If it has the features you want in a guitar, you will not be disappointed.
The things I like most about this guitar are the string-thru-body, quality tuning machines, Ultra Access neck and the longer 26.5 inch scale length - which was not available on many of the 7 string guitars that were within my budget. This makes the strings feel tighter, even at lower tunings, so you can dig-in hard when you are playing heavy.
This guitar sounds great with my rig. I've read some comments from people that the active pickups sound too "sterile" and the sound has "no character". But I feel that this is a perfect quality for processed guitar sounds. Lay on the effects, delay, EQ, clean or distortion - create soundscapes, this guitar will have plenty of character. I often feel inspired when playing it and creating sounds.
Fit and finish are excellent - top notch. This guitar came nicely setup right out of the box. No scratches, dents or flaws - it was perfect. Nice quality-control.
I compared many 7 string guitars and the Blackjack had all the features that I wanted. The Ultra Access neck, active pickups, and longer scale length make this guitar well worth it. It plays and feels well beyond its moderate price-point.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

This guitar sounds great. The neck is very playable for a 7 string. The only problem i have with this axe is it is very uncomfortable when i lay my arm on the body for palm mutes the flat top is to flat no curve for your arm to rest.Other than that it is great i will have to find a Luthier to fix this then it will be the best 7 string ever.

    Amazing guitar

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

Such a beautiful guitar, there is just so much to talk about with this guitar. It is everything that a guitarist that is into the heavy types of music needs. Mine recently showed up in my mail and I haven't wanted to leave my house since. I own both a gibson explorer and an Ibanez JS. This guitar beats both of them

    The best 7-string Ever!!!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

If you love metal then this guitar is for you! I got this guitar for christmas and it's everything I've ever wanted in a guitar. The Blackouts have the clearest distortion I've ever heard. The lows are amazing and the action is killer. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to the neck and now I just shred without any effort. From the moment I picked it up, I immediately could tell that this guitar was solid. Nothing cheap. It's extremely light and drop dead good looking. I have 8 eight guitars and I've been through about 10 others through life and this is by far the best one I have ever played.

    Can't go wrong

    By Kremit

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

Originally I was looking at purchasing a V-shaped guitar and settled on the new Schecter V. Thank god I noticed the unsightly smaller upper wing and abandoned that idea. Then I decided to give a 7 string a try and played 2 Ibanez's, 2 Schecters and an LTD for comparison sake. The Schecter blew those away in tone, neck feel, and finish. I ordered the ATX (not one I played previously) and was stunned taking it out of the box. It was in tune. The finish flawless. The Duncan Blackouts alone are one of the best features - that's coming from a hardline EMG player. They blow the EMG's in my other 3 guitars away. I've had it for 3 months now and can hardly put it down. I have come to love the 7th string and it makes playing a little less boring. This is my 2nd Schecter and I think they have now made me fully brand-loyal with this guitar and I'll look to them first in the future when the guitar-buying syndrome strikes again. Excellent guitar and great value for your money !

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

I plugged this guitar in a few weeks ago in a local music shop and I was instantly blown away.Everything about this axe is astounding, you can not beat the quality for the price. The tone is very clear and it has heaps of sustain. I rarely have to play with the tuning, something I can't say for some of my higher value guitars. It stacks up with the best of the best, try it and buy it!

    Nice

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Blackjack ATX C-7 7 String Electric Gutiar:

I have been wanting to expand my horizons, so to speak, and veer off into a different type of music and style of playing. Possiblities! I'm used to playing my '78 Strat. I think since I've bought it I have not been disappointed overall. The intonation is excellent. These are easy to play and not tempermental as my strat. It is very well constructed and worth the money. I ordered the vintage black and I really liked it. I was unsure at first if I was going to like it since I bought it online but I'm glad I did. It looks evil and mean with the black hardware! I have small hands compared to other players and I have not had a problem adjusting to the neck. It's just like a different girlfriend you have to adjust to. She has her different qualities, good and not so good. I'm use to the strats and les pauls having their distinct voice and feel when you play it on a clean channel. One thing that disappointed me was that this guitar on a clean channel sounds somewhat sterile. It has no distinct sound or voice like a strat or les paul or other guitars. However, with the technology nowadays you can process your guitar sound however you want it. I personally like to hear the personal tone of the guitar on a clean channel to see what the girl looks like without all that makeup. Another thing that disappointed me was the cheesy lightning bolt that is not even abalone. It looks like it was just painted on there. It would have been excellent to have an abalone but that is my preference. Aesthetics is all but this does not affect the playing. I play this through my '71 Marshall halfstack and a Gx65 Crate that is my "throw down" amp. If you are looking to play heavy rock and metal this is a damn good guitar for the price. Just the hardware alone is worth the money; ebony neck, blackout active pickups, mahogany body, maple neck.
