I was looking for a guitar that was geared towards hard rock / metal whilst also offering enough versatility to play a few other styles and it was a choice between this or an ESP Eclipse. I opted for this for a couple of reasons: the other user reviews, the Floyd Rose, the double cutaway for better high fret access and most of all, the price. After receiving it a few days ago all I can say is that this is, without a doubt, the best guitar that I will ever buy. This thing is seriously good and in pure value for money terms I'd be amazed if you could get anything better. This is the first guitar I've ever played, let alone owned, that has a Floyd Rose system but after a couple of initial teething troubles I got the hang setting it up fairly quickly. The guitar is fairly heavy but is beautifully made and the neck is extremely comfortable. The fret are well finished, bending is a breeze and you can get easy access to the 24th fret on all six strings. The EMGs are beefy and with the right set up this thing is a beast. The coil taps work great too and definitely provide the versatility that I was looking for.All in all, Schecter can definitely take great credit for producing such an A+ instrument that would put a lot of 'twice-the-price' Gibson and Fender guitars to shame. I'd recommend this to anyone, anywhere, regardless of what type of music you play.

I went to my favorite local guitar shop that I've been going for years. So I thought, I got few fenders & LP Gibson guitar in my collections. And I'm looking for something dif. I looked & played some Ibanez & Jackson guitars & they did'nt have the feel of a will made ax. So I guest it was time to go, & I heard someone was playing "bark of the moon". I look what kind of ax he was playing. So I gave it a trying and I was amaze how good this guitar played, sound, and the feel of it. I shred it, made it scream along w/floyd rose/and this ax just keep asking for more. The EMG is great extra, & genuine Floyd Rose is a Plus for the price. The styling, abolone bonding & gothic cross is like buying an expensive high price ax. I bought it, hook it to my vintage twin reverb fender amp & I coul'nt put down. My Fenders, Lp Gibson Ax took a back sit. Pound for pound,Price for Price, C-1 FR Hellraiser blow them out of the water. I'm saving up to the get another one for my arsenal.

I've been playing for about five years, and i have six guitars, but this is my first one with a floyd on it. This guitar is definantly not lacking in anything, it has endless sustain, and screams like no other. The set of emg's in it are perfect to match the amazing, evil color, and design. This guitar also can produce some sparkling cleans too with the pickup selector in middle position. I highly recomend this guitar to anyone who wants a versitile, beautiful guitar.

STEAL IT IF YOU HAVE TO!

By c-town kid

from massachusetts

Let me start off by saying, this is the best guitar i have ever played. i've spent countless hours in guitar centers and daddys junky music stores, and ive played almost every guitar made at one point or another, and NOTHING beats this guitar. i run it through a 75 watt line6 spider jam, with the built in mini recording studio in it, and 12 different amp models. It sound great playing heavy metal, or punk rock, but will do ANY style of music. I also own a dean dimebag razorback, and i thought i had achieved the ultimate metal guitar sound with that, until i picked up the hellraiser. the dimebucker in the bridge position, sounds amazing, but its not as versatile as the hellraiser. and for flat out tightness using the heaviest amp sound i have, its better than the razorback. i got the new one with the emg 81-89 coil tapped pickups. ive heard people badmouth active pickups so many times, saying they do not give good tone or clean sounds. i gotta say, i dont know what the hell they're talking about! they sound amazing. you probably already know the specs of this guitar, grover tuners, original floyd rose tremelo, sick construction quality, and the finish on it sparkles. steal it if you have to..

Really good guitar

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This is a really good guitar overall. You've got the floyd rose (which is easy to operate despite what everyone says), the emg 81, 85's, grover tuning keys, and the awesome fretboard inlays! One thing I do not like, though, are the x-tra jumbo frets. It makes it hard to do some stretches that would be easy on other guitars. Also the volume knob kind of gets in the way of my right hand but I got used to it. It stays in tune really good too which is a plus...and for the price, this is definatley a steal.

Beautiful Guitar

I, like many, waited a while before actually receiving the guitar and I have to say that it was well worth the wait. It is a truly beautiful guitar (black cherry) that changes color depending on the lighting. The feel is perfect. Great sound. ***Only now I have to get a lot better to take advantage of all this guitar has to offer. After reviewing a lot of guitars, I am very happy that I found this and bought it. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for top quality and performance.

Awesome Guitar!

By Kurtis209

from Stockton CA

This guitar is straight up awesome! Ive had this guitar for about 3 months and the Floyd stays in perfect tune. The EMG's are the best pickups Ive played. They are great for squels like Dimebag Darrell did. It sounds very mean when put the distortion on and it sounds great clean too. Plus this guitar just looks great with the black cherry finish. This guitar is a great but I wouldnt get it if you are a starter and are not sure you want too play the guitar because this model is a little pricey. But it was worth it.

Love it

By Bonzai_jig

Wow, this guitar definately comes alive through my marshall, I am going to have to buy a compressor for the clean sound as I am not quick enough to pop the volume control knob to settle her down a bit. The craftmanship of this guitar is superb. I had to set up the action and adjust the hieght of the pick-ups when I brought her home. The neighbors are hating me right now!!!

The best full featured guitar for $

By gweetRplyr

from SLC. UTAH

I must say this guitar really threw me for a loop. I love how well it plays and the amazing tone it produces. It is not as fast playing as my ibanez because of the neck but it sure holds up better and has way better intonation. You can dive bomb with the floyd rose tremolo and it will stay in tune, no prob. The parts are all quality and the guitar is built well. If you are looking for a great high end flexible guitar, for a reasonable amount, then this is the guitar you need. I love to play this guitar more than my ESP, Jackson or Ibanez because it sounds great with everything I play!

This guitar was pretty awesome. I kept going between a million guitars, but I decided to settle on this one. Good choice I made. EMG 81/85 combo with the original Floyd Rose. You can't go wrong. It sounds amazing, and my Boss EQ doesn't hurt, either. You'd think it would be a crime for a guitar to be priced this low. It feels great, too. Only thing I have to say about it is:1) My bridge goes a little crazy when I tune down a step.2)Upper-fret access is just a LITTLE limited, but my hands are big, so that might be it.It feels relatively well with me, leaning more on the thin side. I definitely will consider Schecter guitars in the future because of this.

Raising Hell

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I just got this guitar for my birthday and it is the best I have picked up exept for maybe the Dean Razorbacks for the playablity. I reccomend this for anyone in nay music style the bridge pickup has great clean tones and the bidge is a metal beast. The only problem is that the low e string had a little buzzing in the beginning but after I used the Floyd Rose a few times it fixed its self but all in all a great guitar.

Schecter Hellraiser, AMAZING!

By VWinthehouse

from Barberton, OH

This is probably one of the best guitar's I've ever played. And I own alot of guitars trust me, this beats my fenders and gibsons, even my vintage Peavey that used to be my main gig guitar. The floyd on this guitar is a wonder, I've never had any problems with it. The finish is incredible, not a scratch on it, and the inlays are the icing on the cake. The pickups are very versatile, yet perfect for metal and shredding. I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar to anybody, it has great value. Best for the money, no doubt

Beast!

By xd15c0nn3ct3dx

I had been hunting for the perfect upgrade that would keep me content for a long time [since I had been playing a crappy starter for long enough]. I was debating between a higher end Ibanez and a few esp H series, but I never pictured myself with a schecter. Other schecters I have played did not impress me too much, but as soon as I laid fingers on this guitar, I new it was everything I was looking for! Stunning visuals [I have the black cherry], amazing and durable floyd which can take any punishment without going out of tune, and killer action and tone! Worth every penny! I honestly cannot see anyone disappointed with this guitar at all! My only suggestion is changing the strings if you plan on downtuning a lot. Maybe a higher gauge [like ernie ball slinky 10's], but other than that, flawless! Go buy it now!

Trust Me, you want this guitar!

By The Hellraiser's Advocate

from Alabaster, Alabama

This bad-boy is definately a must have! Everything about it is amazing. From the beautiful quilted top to the searing and crushing tone of the EMG's. The active pickups lock the tone in like never before and the added volume control allows for more versitility. The FR tremolo can be hammered on pretty hard while keeping you in tune all the while. I love it.

WOW!!!

By SCHECTALUVVA!

When I went and played this guitar I was amazed as soon as I saw it. This thing is a beauty and I just had to play it. When I picked I up the first thing I noticed was that it was a little heavy, but thats only because it has a set neck which is worth the extra weight. When I laid my hands on the neck and cranked up the volume this thing rocked! The emg's were amazing and I had great tone out of it. This thing is a shredder for sure and the floyd rose stays in tune divebomb after divebomb. Overall this guitar is definitely the best you can get for the price or more. I've played $4000 guitars and this thing surpasses them. It's the best guitar you can get!

I love this guitar. the neck is incredibly comfortable, the pickups sound godly when played through my boss me-50 pedal, the pickups get great clean and if the settings are tweaked right, you get a bit of twang for some country style. i play mainly blues, metal and a bit of country, and it sounds great for every one of those. i recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Schecter never disappoints

By Tony-9CzeJ

See all my reviews

You won't find a better guitar for the money, and even if you do find one for the same money, you'll get a crap fake Floyd Rose and "Designed by EMG" pickups instead of the real thing. Each Schecter guitar is setup first-hand before it leaves the shop out in California. Do yourself a favor, don't go with Jackson or Ibanez or anyone else... support a company that cares about their products and get this guitar. It doesn't matter what style you play, you can get any tone you want out of this guitar.

I waited over 3 months for this guitar and just recieved it this week. I almost cancelled my order, but very glad I didn't, because this add doesn't do it Justice. I am a Metal guitarist and this is all I'll ever need! Through my rig, it's unstoppable. It may be called the Hellraiser, but it's a gift from God!
