A great combination from the guitarist of neck-thru design, ebony fretboard and select Seymour Duncan pickups.

Dan Donegan, guitarist for multi-platinum band Disturbed, teamed up with Schecter Guitars to produce the Schecter Dan Donegan Ultra Signature Electric Guitar, also known as the Schecter Ultra DD.

With over 11 million albums sold worldwide, Dan's influence cannot be underestimated in an ever-changing musical landscape. The much anticipated Schecter Ultra DD signature model will not disappoint.

This Schecter has a visually striking neck-thru-body design that also helps produce long-sustaining notes with increased midrange. The body is mahogany and is joined to a resonant 5-ply maple and walnut neck via an ultra-access neck joint. The silky-smooth ebony fretboard has 22 extra jumbo frets along its full 25.5" scale length. Schecter locking tuners adorn the peghead. The truss rod cover features the guitarist's signature.

Dan Donegan selected specific Seymour Duncan pickups for the Ultra DD. A custom shop "El Diablo" in the bridge position provides pronounced upper mids and sweet, rounded highs, while the neck position SH-1N offers late-'50s, vintage correct, humbucker sound ranging from warm clean tones to full and bright distorted ones. The result is a guitar that can handle a variety of styles and playing techniques, just like the man himself.

Dan Donegan Signature Schecter Ultra

By Cameron Shields

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Dan Donegan Ultra Signature Electric Guitar:

Sounds and feels great. It was a very good product. The only thing wrong was the cracks in the paint.
It has a nice beefy neck and a large body for a large guy like me. I also really like how the knobs are set up.
It's made out of great materials and the ebony fret board feels great. My only complaint was that I ordered one and it had cracks in the paint under the top coating. I sent it back and received a second one with the same problem in the same place. Other than that it is a great guitar.
I would much rather play this than a Gibson or a Fender and it's a ton cheaper

Dan Donegan Ultra Is Astonishing

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Dan Donegan Ultra Signature Electric Guitar:

see my Features verbage...form will not allow a cut and paste here...
I'm impressed at the fit and finish of this instrument out of the box (a grade 3 used instrument from MF, no less). This is my 2nd neck through Schecter guitar. It has a robust and crisp unplugged acoustic sound likely due the maple components. The '59er delivers a singing woody tone while the El Diablo brings the high end crunch (all the way!) home. Adjusting the tone and volume controls pays dividends on this bad boy; I especially like the way the volume pots are tapered. Needless to say the guitar is beautiful although I wish it were also offered in the Ultra Classic Custom color (the original DD prototype orange yellow burst) that Dan is seen playing often. I'm 6'3 so size is not an issue for me but realize that this is a large and heavy instrument very reminiscent of a Gibson Firebird en masse. For anyone in doubt about Schecter, go to a guitar store and get one in your hands. EVERY Schecter I've ever picked up including the real cheapies, are ready to play. The high end Schecters like the Dan Donegan are among the best guitars being produced today at any price point.
Thank you Musicians Friend for the incredible discount on used.

this thing hold low tuning great the lock tuners do the screams metal and the El'Diablo pickup in the bridge acts as if it was an active pickup. Bottom line is that this guitar rocks.
