Man what a journey I had to get this guitar. I wanted Black Cherry and NO ONE had it....I guess they just conveniently stopped making them or something in that color, or I got the bottom of the shipment to the US cuz no one had 'em. Anyways once I got one from the new shipment, I plugged it in at my house and MY GOODNESS!! the most sinister thing I have ever heard come out of a guitar! Period. Love the feel and playability, sounds wicked overdriven, and fantastic clean, despite what you may think. I was expecting mediocre sounds clean, but man was I wrong. The stock strings just POP too, they are fantastic. I have to find out what they are and get more. The volume/volume/tone is nice too, so I essentially have a killswitch if I roll off the volume on one of them and use the pup switch, which is cool; also the knobs turn very smoothly, pretty much like butter, haha. Tuners seem good quality, haven't had an issue. Jack is nice and seems high quality. Frets play nice and fast and the inlays are nice, an intricate look to them. Value: Schecters are great value for the money, I love my first schecter and will continue to use it in conjunction with this one for different stuff, but over all great value. Quality: the value is related to the quality, and they have great quality stuff, I beat on these guitars at every band practice and every day in between, so they take abuse well. Features: well I mean it's not meant to be flashy or anything like the VG strat but it's just like any other guitar features wise. Overall: I am ecstatic with my purchase and look forward to many melted faces in my ensuing musical career!! haha-FW

This guitar is crafted beautifully and truly has wonderful metal tones. BUT the strings are spaced to far apart and it makes it difficult to play fast and clean. Other Ibanez 7 strings I have played I have not encountered this problem. I bought this guitar to go on a US tour with a metal band and If I were to have another chance at buying a 7 I would NOT purchase this guitar again unless they respaced the strings and made the neck a little smaller (vertically).

It's fantastic! - with a couple of mods, that is!

As far as praise for this guitar, there's really nothing I can say that hasn't already been said; so I'll say what I DON'T like, and how I'm gonna fix it. When the pickup selector switch is in the middle position, you can't blend the pickups (lowering one pickup's volume also lowers the other one), so I'm rewiring the volume pots to make them work independent of each other. I also dislike those towering extra-jumbo frets. My tech is gonna lower them and bring the action down a smidge. I prefer the neck that Schecter puts on the Blackjack, but alas, that model has only one volume control (otherwise I would've bought it instead).

Very Good Value, But...

By Takemikazuchi

I've had this guitar for a little under a year now, and, for the most part, am very happy with it. Playability, tone and quality control are well above average. On the downside a couple of frets started to buzz after awhile so I raised the action a little. Unfortunately this really hindered my ability to play leads so I lowered it again a week ago but now one of the frets is about half dead.Since I doubt the problems I mentioned here are not widespread on this model I'm not going to give this guitar a bad review, but would have preferred this particular one to have had a little more attention to the neck prior to being shipped from the factory.

Leviathan Axe

By CRAGDan-.sH7J

This is most likely the best guitar you could buy in this price range. There's absolutely nothing bad about this guitar! The EMG 707's crank out and the tone on this baby is amazing. Leads sound great, and the chunk from the low B is tight and clear. The neck is a little wider than what I'm used to with a 7string, but one good day of playing and you will adjust. The clean is surprisingly warm as well. The body is very heavy, but should not upset your playing. Definitely the guitar to get! Nothing else will compare 7-string wise, even over 1,000 bucks. Sounds HUGE!

This guitar is so awesome, the action is prefect and the sustain is great with the tune-o-matic bridge. If I had my choice of pickups I might put 81-7's or possibly Duncan Invaders but thats a minor thing this guitar sounds nasty. The only problem for me is I really wish Schecter made more guitars with a trem, if this had a floyd I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but maybe after I get my next 7 with a trem I'll be able to save up for this. It's def worth the money.

Amazing guitar!!!!

I went to a local Guitar shop in my area of town and I saw this guitar on a top-shelf section. I asked if I could play it since I was interested in getting a 7-string. All I can say is wow! This guitar is really good! I've played other 7-strings ranging in the thousand dollar range and up, but they didn't play as good as this one. So, I bought this guitar and haven't looked back since.

Solid 7

By Shammah

from Minnesota

The extended scale and string-thru body enhance clarity but does take time to get used too. The pickups are warm and aggressive sounding and drive my '82 JCM800 hard. I play an '88 US custom RG so the neck a little fat for my liking, so I stripped the finish off just the neck and tung-oiled it, while sill different it plays fast smooth perfect for shredding. All in all a good first 7 string worth keeping.

This is my favorite out of all the schecters ive played,im not sure id convert cause im an Ibanez guy but if i was ready to change schecters the way to go,this thing can go from nice clean to heavy, really crunchy on the extra b string and well worth the money if your looking for a good 7-string look no further,go raise some hell.

This is an incredible guitar. I have been playing for 20+ years and have never played a 7 string git with this type of sound and sound quality. Not even Ibanez...

THE ULTIMATE BONECRUSHING MACHINERY

By Griefgiver

from Brazil, South America

I still don't own it but it's just a matter of time. My experience with Schecter is really reduced as I live in Brazil and the stores around here don't carry Schecters. Not yet. I've been craving for this baby for about four months and the closest I got from it was testing an older C7 a friend of mine owns and that was a killer one, even bolt-on constructed and armored with Duncan designed PUP's.I wonder how this baby sounds and feels but, after doing a lot of research and reading a lot of reviews about this guitar, I can't be wrong choosing to buy this one. That's my advice: Don't ponderate too much. Buy this guitar and destroy all your annoying neighboors with its thunderous sound.
