Active pckups for meaty metal tone!
The Schecter V-1 Hellraiser delivers tones sure to please any metal player. The mahogany body has an ultra-access cutaway that really lets you get all the way up the 3-piece mahogany neck. The rosewood fretboard has 24 extra-jumbo frets and abalone gothic cross inlays for a dark, sinister look. Active EMG 81TW and 89 pickups deliver crushing electric guitar tone. Now you have more options than ever by activating single-coil sound from the 81TW via a push/pull tone knob.
The binding has been specifically chosen to complement the finish. The Graphtech lubricating nut keeps the strings from binding. Grover tuners, and black chrome hardware round out the Schecter V-1 Hellraiser's killer look. The Black Cherry finish version has a quilted maple top.
Schecter knows that for fretboard access, playing comfort, and downright coolness, it's hard to beat a V. You probably know that the Hellraiser is hard to beat for killer looks, tone, and the kind of construction that handles the metal domain, gig after gig, and comes out on top.

Being completely satisfied with the sound, the wood, playability of the neck, I sincerely want everyone to judge for themselves. The two things I didn't enjoy so much was how easily it goes out of tune on the G, and the work to speedpick.
The features that this guitar has to offer (that tone of the wood, tuners, pick-ups, overall sound and so forth) are all very good. The wood is very dark yet warm. This is perfect for the metal tone, yet you can still get a bit of "glassy" cleans with the neck pickup on clean thru-amp. I am not impressed with how well it stays in tune, otherwise I see no real problems. The G goes out of tune like CRAZY, but that is not that big of a deal for me. Great features! Lets us not forget the amazing looks this thing has. The neck shown here looks close to being a bright rosewood, when in reality the neck is much darker looking.
The playability of the guitar like most V's is a bit uncomfortable and takes a while to get used to. This was my first V I have ever even touched, and I am no too terribly satisfied with the speedpicking. The body shape makes it ridiculous to speedpick, but I can still do it if I really work at it. The feel of the neck is very beautiful and smooth. This guitar will seduce you into wanting to play more, and create more music. It's a very high quality instrument and does not feel cheap by any stretch.
I'd buy this guitar again if I ever needed to replace it. It has much to offer in the price-range. It has much to be said, and much to compose on. Such a wonderful playing guitar.
I tried this guitar out a few days ago and enjoyed it very much. It has the new EMG 81T in the bridge and an 89 in the neck. Schecter created a piece of art with its smooth ultra access neck and very well balanced axe. This guitar punches out insane sound and hits thoughs pinched harmonic perfectly. If you like the look of the guitar and have a passion for playing metal or clean tones then buy it. Go try it out!
